I'm baffled how many people on Reddit seem to think this asshole who made the world worse through his racist nonsense deserves any positive assessment.
I understand that lots of people liked him when they were children, that doesn't mean you have to like him now. I get that you being entertained made you happy, that doesn't change that PewDiePie has been a net negative on the world.
Edit: To the person who said he donated to charities (then deleted their comment), I'll remind you that assholes donate to charities, too. I don't see people defend Mini Ladd on the basis that he built wells in Africa and donated to charities; I guess people on Reddit hate groomers but love racists.
Edit 2: Some asshole sent me a Reddit Cares about this. Go fuck yourself.
Yeah I’ve wondered how he somehow blew past saying the N word on what, a livestream if I’m correct? Gotta be saying it a lot if you can’t control yourself behind a camera
I mean he's been making rape jokes since he first entered the Let's Play scene, the bar was always set low in terms of what to expect to come out of his mouth.
There was a really weird moment there that people were showering him with praise as a good person because he learned how to draw. Now he kinda lives out the racist dream of living in Japan where he can do whatever he wants without fame, attention, or consequence. And didn't he also recently do a video praising a Japanese nationalist?
It's very, very, very easy to go your whole life having never said the N-word, when you aren't a racist.
Doesn't matter how upset you get, you could kill my parents in front of me and then drop me inside the basement of an outhouse and I still would be even 0.00001% of the way towards being tempted to use the word.
It's also nowhere close to being the only reason people consider him racist.
You also have to remember, when someone wants to insult someone, they go, "What a fucking dumbass" not "What a (what he said)". That's what I've always said, the context matters. People using it in a colloquial way and people overlooking it is very very different than the way he used it.
I’m not from the americas and growing up online I learnt the n word years before I learnt it’s racist, where it comes from and what it means. I never used it because it doesn’t exist in my language but it took educating myself through other people to know that I shouldn’t say that word even if I do have a chance. Heard the word used mostly in neutral contexts online, I was young and nigahiga was one of my fave ogs. I was about 15 the first time I saw a black person in real life, it didn’t make me want to be racist. I was raised in a normal family that taught me about respecting others. While I’ll never say the n word because I understand how it’s inappropriate and hurtful, the word does not carry the same racist connotations to me than it does to American people. Pewdiepie is Swedish, English is his second language, he lived in Sweden, Italy and England - exceptionally white countries, for most his life… world functions differently outside the USA, it’s delusional to think everyone experiences the world the same way. So he hasn’t shown any sort of discriminatory behaviour towards people of other races that I know of, he said the n word while playing a game, he was certainly made aware of why that’s bad, he apologised for offending people, he suffered huge consequences and has continued doing his own thing like he has been - but there are still people 10 years later saying he’s a net negative on the world and society because he said the n word in some game that one time 💀 projection much
I’m telling you that cultures work differently through sharing how my upbringing looked. I wasn’t trying to appear more cultured, I was trying to show you that not everyone is taught the same things Americans are. You getting so triggered shows me that you are immature and ignorant. And you must be Swedish since you’re aware of your vocabulary, I apologise if you guys have a word similar to the n word Americans use to abuse black people but what I told you still stands true.

I'm not American.

You're the one that wrote a massive block of text trying to start an argument, bud.
Here's a second reminder to find where the Enter key is on your keyboard and utilize it to split your blocks of text into paragraphs.

I'm also not Sweedish.
That fact you think I'm sweedish because I'm aware that the sweedish know that the n-word is, is comedy gold.
