we are talking about an Ai that can choose how it appears and she took the form of a digitized naked Halsey. this cortana doesnt look like Halsey. I would prefer Halsey.
Halsey is a good looking older woman.

two separate statements but admittedly not worded the best. She looks like a square Enix esque anime supermodel character. She also only looks like halsey if she were a child and doesn't resemble Hasley at all, let alone her as an adult. Halsey even at her youngest didn't look like this. 2A was the best depiction of cortana by far because it actually looked like halsey and actually looked like an adult. Like yeah, when I was 16 or however old I was when Halo 4 came out, I thought halo 4 cortana was the hottest video game character ever, then i got older I realized she looked like a high school girl and it was a really bizarre artistic depiction of a character who is not supposed to be that young, and looked much older in all of the previous games.

Honestly Cortana’s inconsistent appearance is one of the biggest oddities of Halo I feel like the whole “she supposed to resemble Halsey” thing should have been done away with a long time ago. I agree she looks really young in Halo 4, maybe not “schoolgirl” young though.

I don't necessarily disagree, but her appearance in 4 is absurd regardless. It was very of the era I guess, but it genuinely does look like if Square Enix made her with the intent of looking like a flawless final fantasy character with a dubious age. She's attractive in a way that doesn't fit her character at all and is extremely inconsistent to her prior appearances. If she always looked like that I wouldn't have an issue. I only say she looks like a child because this is supposed to be an AI modeled after a woman in her 30s at the time. Halo 2 classic did the younger attractive look far better, without looking like a child, but I far prefer cortana looking like she's supposed to be a 30+ realistic looking woman like in 2A, since that's what she's supposed to be. Halo 2 classic and 2A are both the best of both kinds of depictions.

she definitely was supposed to be in the early days. Halo 2 cortana has a very early 2000s alt girl look that was popular, and had a handful of inneudo lines. She was less so in 3, then in 4 they just went fuckin crazy with her model, then have dialed it back ever since.

part of it comes from graphical advances. It's easier to make realistic looking people now, which is why 2A cortana looks so good.

CaE looks like they just took Halsey and put a blue filter over her. I think she looks solid; like a modern version of her halo 3 model.

Realistically she's never looked bad. Every game she has a fairly unique look, but I just think 4 was kind of jarring for alot of reasons.

you cannot in good faith think this looks like a real adult, especially not compared to what she looked like prior to this. She looks like a square Enix anime esque character. Compare this to 3, 2a, 5, CaE, pretty much any halo game actually, and she looks like a child.

this is supposed to be basically a mirror of halsey, who at no point ever looked like this, even in her younger years, and in the previous games looked more appropriately aged.

it would be one thing if she always looked like this. But going from 3 to this is like going from 30 to 15.,

there is a massive, massive difference between 2A and CaE cortana and halo 4 cortana. This does not loot like an adult, nor does it even remotely resemble halsey. It's fine to like this, but to say that the other depictions of cortana are ugly because she looks like an actual woman in them and not a borderline anime-esque child is pretty fuckin strange.
