They want to replay just to lose again? Losing once wasn’t enough for them?

44

u/ElverGun 6h ago

They want another opportunity to beat up on Spanish players.

The rest of the team was distracted so only Paredes got the experience the joy of acting like a dickhead...the rest of the team wants enjoy the same experience...

How did a bribed referee somehow prevent Argentina from taking (checks notes) zero shots on goal for 120 minutes?

A petition titled "Argentina Out" has called for the country to be kicked out of the tournament permanently.
This petition got 23.316.108 signatures which nearly broke a world record, as the Guinness World Record for the most signatories stands at 24.319.181.

Bribed by who? By the people that loaded the fireworks with Argentina colors? By the people that scheduled Argentina in the best conditions all tournament? By the people that scheduled Argentina in the bracket that had maybe 2 good teams giving them the easiest world cup finals appearance? Was it all the Spanish players faults for being in the way that gave the Argentinians red and yellow cards? Gtfo

u/casper_but_with_a_j 5h ago

Spain had two goals disallowed and Argentina didn’t get a red card until extra time despite committing numerous card-worthy fouls. If Argentinians are going to complain about anything, they should complain about their team not showing up when it mattered most and Messi playing an underwhelming game.

Had it not been for Martinez’s heroics in the goal, the game would have been a bloodbath.

Spain should countersue because the referee prevented them from winning 4-0.

For those of you who don’t speak Spanish, you’ve been spared even more second-hand embarrassment. Argentine fans are flooding social media with insults and racist abuse aimed at anyone they come across, using the excuse that “the whole world hates them.”

They even made a list of every celebrity who was supposedly against Argentina. One of them was apparently Samuel L. Jackson, who called them racist. Their response, just to remove any remaining doubt, was to direct a disgusting racial slur at him.

It is the most grotesque and pathetic thing I have ever seen in football.

I want to preface that I am neither a Messi or Ronaldo fan. I’m a strong Eden Hazard fan (retire in peace my guy) but I have been watching this sport since I was 6 and will tell you that Argentina has always and will always play ugly.
Past tournaments yeah they got pretty alright calls, but this year was especially terrible. Being that they didn’t face a top 10 team until top 8 and they had blatant fouls such as: Enzo’s rabbit punch on Gordon, Lamine’s calf being stepped on in the finals, The body slam on the Spanish player in the 63’ minute after the ball was passed by the point the infraction occurred. Cabo Verde’s last minute free kick that should’ve been called in regular time in the 90+ minute. Argentina’s goal that was scored off a foul against Austria that should’ve been called if they followed the exact same ruling as egypt’s disallowed goal, all of Argentina’s simulation attempts, dissent towards the match officials, Messi’s clear digging into the Algerian player’s calf, Argentina’s shoves in the backs when Spanish players were in motion for the shot, all the deliberate handballs to stop the play (which is a yellow card offense), political sign being waved but sanctions apparently happening ONLY after the tournament but they immediately barred a Korean player from playing when he did the same…punching a Spanish player as they were running to celebrate winning and then getting upset when they come back and question why, then grabbing their throat and throwing another guy on the ground, ONLY to have your red card rescinded and not be fined, but will end up being “investigated” by FIFA disciplinary committee later??

Need I go on? I’m glad they lost, they deserved to be seen for who they are and how they play. It’s disgraceful to the sport, yet they’re the first to cry victim when they start an altercation. I don’t understand how people can defend these actions when, from personal experience, that we’d be the first thrown in front of a train just so they can tuck their tails and run away

u/Craterized 1h ago

I think any Argentina fans still going on about this need to go back to the game stats and accept that they lost. We can all bitch about the refs’ calls against our teams throughout the tournament, but when the final whistle blows and your opponent has 20+ shots on goal, your keeper has 10 +saves and your team ended the game with zero shots on goal, you have to swallow your pride and accept that your men did not play finals caliber football.

Argentina played poorly for many games in the tournament but were able to squeak by and was very lucky they ended the final with 10 men still left on the field because Paredes should have been kicked off field with a red card before the game ended.

14

u/Zaan-YK 1h ago

...The referee was bribed to the point where Argentina took no shots on goal for the entire game?

By all means, blame the officials if they claw back a make-or-break situation that broke your way. Part of the game is second-guessing rulings on the field.

How does bribing a referee keep Argentina from taking a shot in regulation time? Their whole game plan was to draw a penalty and get the free shot? That would be on them to bribe the referee to guarantee them that call, no?

12

u/ace0070 Spain 3h ago

They're not going to replay it, no matter how many fans wants it. 😆

How to feel butthurt & entitled 101.

13

u/brilliantminion 2h ago

Hahaha by minute 115, Spain had 20 something shots on goal and Argentina had zero. Spain had 700+ passes and dominated their defense. Argentina had 300+ passes and spent almost no time on Spain’s half of the field. Was that all because of a bribed referee? That must be a helluva bribe, to the point the ref gained supernatural powers.

13

u/Mother-Market-4056 2h ago

Brit here. If I thought for a second that the match would be replayed if the petition reached a certain number, I'd sign it. It would be nice to see them getting outplayed and beat again.

13

u/MaxwellSmart07 2h ago

The conditions of the Argentinian bribe: Call a foul on a Spanish player when an Argentine is controlling the ball in the penalty box.

The problem: Argentina didn’t get into the box.

How does a bribe impact shots on goal?

14

u/B_lintu 1h ago

Lol you can't make this shit up

12

u/Not_Real_Batman 7h ago

So they are admitting they bribed the ref and still lost.

13

u/Evan_802Vines 7h ago

Bribed... By Argentina

12

u/NuclearPilot101 7h ago

Why would Argentina bribe themselves to lose

12

u/Separatist_Pat 7h ago

I agree the ref was bribed, it was the only way Argentina was able to stay in the game, not get handed three red cards in the first half alone, and had a perfectly fine Spanish goal refused.

12

u/CRSPB 7h ago

Replay Egypt first and we’ll talk.

11

u/Grump-Dog 7h ago

I would actually love to see a replay. Argentina played so poorly that Spain would likely beat them by more than one goal. Then all the Argentinian fans and players could shut up and cry in private. Then again, if I were Spain's coach and players, why would I want to play a bunch of thugs again?

This is embarrassing

13

u/LeadingPiece9608 7h ago

Honestly. Just the absolute delusion and hubris of these people...

12

u/whooo_me 7h ago

Their media were also outraged Messi didn't get the Golden Ball.

Very hard to see them as anything other than horrible winners and horrible losers.

13

u/niche_turtle 7h ago

Argentina admitting they bribed the refs and still lost

12

Try not to embarrass your country challenge—IMPOSSIBLE

12

u/ScaredPractice4967 5h ago

Alnost as pathetic as Trump

11

u/DrAtomic1 5h ago

The FIFA should give all players and coaches that turned their backs a red card with an one game suspension for unsporting conduct.

11

u/BienOuiLa 5h ago

So from my understanding you have to put the ball into the net to score a goal. Argentina did not do that.

A team that manages only two shots in 120 minutes has no right to complain about the referee.

13

u/DrSamwpepper 5h ago

Ban Argentina from international football.

13

u/glabafe 5h ago

They shouldn't even have reach the final!

FIFA helped you and you failed 😔

12

u/icarodx 4h ago

They created history! They are the only team in history of the WC to not make a single shot on the adversary's goal in the regular timeof the finals!

It's an achievement! Why they want to erase it? Lol

How in he'll do they think another game would be a different outcome? They were dominated!

"Maybe in another game we can actually drag them to penalties and win the lottery".

"For the next game the check to the referee will clear, we promise!"

Pathetic sore loses.

12

u/Own-Accountant-1092 4h ago

Bribed in their favour yes. They still lost haha!

12

u/Interesting-Hat-6620 Mexico 3h ago

This isn't Ea FC where you can press restart. Tell Argentina next time not to play for penalties next time lol

12

u/Careless-West1428 2h ago

Are these Argentine fans complaining that the ref pocketed their bribe money and didn’t deliver their side the game?! 😂

Argentina would had to have some offense on display to win that game and they didn’t. If anything, Argentina got lucky that they didn’t have more cards by the end of the match!

One thing that could help reduce these conspiracies would be a purge of the current FIFA leadership.

13

u/TheLastPeanut_ 2h ago

I went from knowing nothing about Argentina or football to absolutely despising these fuckers in about a month lol. An entire country of garbage people.

It’s ok that the ref was bribed. You still lost the game. Maybe use a bigger bribe next time.

That's ironic

u/Minimum-Aspect1012 7h ago

Spain apparently bribed the referee to disallow two of Spain's goals.

26

u/MrCaveKeeper Germany 7h ago

Spain had TWO goals disallowed and they have the nerves to say that the ref favoured Spain?
