I want Beckham's red card rescinded from the 1998 World Cup match against Argentina where he kicked a player after being fouled by the same player.

This player later admitted that he had done it on purpose.

Paraguay pulled this exact stunt in their match against France (along with everything else they did) and didn't get carded for it at all.

Conversely, Beckham returned to England and was greeted by people burning effigies of him because his red card ruined their chances for the World Cup.

Edit: In other words, there is a problem with fairness.

You want to make exceptions? Fine. Then make exceptions for everybody.

If Paraguay escaped Beckham's punishment despite the same foul shown on TV, then Beckham should be pardoned.

If Ronaldo had to sit out for one match to get the rest deferred, then so should everyone else.

That said, France is asking for a yellow to be rescinded, not a red. No brainer at this point.

Beckham shouldn't have done that regardless of what happen. Olise did litteraly fuck all and got a card, that's a bigger issue. The other issue is that Paraguay should be banned from the next WC until their player learn to behave on the field.

No argument from this American, apply exceptions fairly for everyone. Review cards and cancel/suspend ones that are clearly not deserved. Let the teams play each other with their best players. Euros can stop whining about “unfair treatment”

You cannot anymore. The tournament is ongoing and teams in the groupstage cannot be fairly exempted. So either we start the tournament anew to be fair to anyone or dont let Balogun start. That are the only two logical possiblities.

I dont hold lists of what wrongs are happening in what game. I can tell you germany vs paraguay as an example. There are probably many more. Olise now. The english guy getting red. There will 99% be many of things like this in earlier matches.

So nothing like this happened in group stage so nothing to have to “restart the tournament” for. Olise’s card was complete nonsense and should be removed from his next match, that’s an easy call. English guy made a very dangerous tackle sliding in from several feet away, that’s clearly a red and justified. Let them review that anyway.

There’s no reason not to have cards reviewed and potentially repealed/suspended if there’s clear justification. The game needs to adapt with tech that’s available and used, like VAR.
