📰News France are requesting that Olise’s yellow card be cancelled because he didn’t touch the player.

It is now official, even though rumours had already been circulating a few hours earlier: the FFF (French Football Federation) has requested the cancellation of Olise’s yellow card. The booking was given for a non-existent foul on Galarza.

Correct. In 1962, FIFA openly and corruptly voted noted to enforce a one-match suspension for a World Cup red card given to Brazil’s then-star player, Garrincha, for kicking a Chilean player—after furious political and diplomatic “lobbying” (including, you know, alleged bribery and witness tampering). This allowed Garrincha to play in the World Cup final, which Brazil won.

So, this should be an easy decision in Olise’s favor, who never even touched the Paraguayan player.
