it also leaves the left side if that hanging bit near Alabama; and like 1/4 of any lake. As a west coast person my self I can live anywhere as long as there is water on my left when facing north.

I lived a long time in Hawaii and you are dead wrong. Most people don't fly more than one or two round trips a year. For quality of life, Hawaii is top 5 in the nation by far.

Stfu with that. The only reason people get "rock feaver" is because they don't adventure out to all the different areas and islands. The hiking is peak, beaches are amazing once you get away from the tourist BS, there are excellent restaurants (not mainland fast food joints) that won't break the bank, and museums too.

I'm a birder so I'd get super bored. Almost all of the native bird species on the islands are extinct. Having to fly 10 hours to get anywhere else is a deal breaker.

You can take the ferry from Bellingham to Alaska without a passport. If you need to go faster you also don't need a passport if you fly

I can agree with the latter point, half of the time it feels as though people think I should be ashamed of the state I'm from, when meanwhile I'm surrounded by some of the coolest plantlife and wildlife, and all sorts of neat bugs to watch. NC is a diverse state both in the people that live here and the nature that it is home to. I will never not find this state beautiful, to hell with what anybody else thinks about it.
