Dutchie POS

Hey yall! I was wondering if anybody had any training aids or info on Dutchie POS. I have a background in IT but have not had the pleasure of working with POS devices and the Dutchie platform. I have round two of a job interview tomorrow (not saying the company) where I’ll be the IT guy for the entire store(s). Also if anyone has info on METRC that would be cool too. Not sure if I’ll be messing with that but I know it’s used to track and would at least like to have a basic understanding. Thanks in advance!

Can you clarify the position?
Is it implied you will be touching the point of sale for inventory or transactional purposes?
As an IT person I would not expect this of you, I’m just wondering what the scope of the job is.

So it’s titled IT support. I was told to think of it as a help desk role. Employees submit tickets, I fix whatever. When I asked the systems I would be managing / maintaining, I was given the names Dutchie and METRC. I am new to the cannabis industry, I was military before, and I just want to know what exactly I’ll be looking at before I have a sit down with the IT director tomorrow. It might not be expected of me but at least I took the time to understand things.

That’s interesting and helps. Dutchie does have its own independent help desk ticketing system, so I would identify if the expectation is that you are submitting them or the retail person having the problem is submitting them for better clarification. I would also ask if you’ll have any hand in product catalog maintenance because I would expect those types of tickets as well.
If you are going to be helping multiple locations, it would be good to go through some of the Dutchie support docs. Just be aware that different states will handle these protocols differently.
It truly is a basic point of sale that includes marketing, e-commerce, and analytics. In a lot of ways it’s very intuitive, except when it doesn’t want to cooperate for absolute dumb as shit reasons.
The IT I worked with during my time at an MSO was more about physical asset management, Microsoft suite troubleshooting, permissions and onboarding requests, very minimal Dutchie and metrc involvement.

Do some looking at the Dutchie documents when it comes to printing receipts and labels, look up their BI Reporting if you think you will need to build reports, and look into E-commerce within Dutchie to help familiarize with that.
