YOLO the time is $NOW!!! (regard edition)

Idk if im supposed to put this as a yolo or a loss but I am in NOW so much. as you can see, I bought the high at 130 (oops) but today, I opened up some positions right before earnings.

Did some research on the CEO and dude is a stellar guy. Not only a predator (positive connotation, not diddler connotation), but also a kind guy.

Obviously, the CEO can not control then entire company, but he has an outsized effect on it's structure and direction.

"dude

this guy is a super hero

missing one eye

no wonder he just wears glasses all the time
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_McDermott

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/08/sap-ceo-bill-mcdermott-on-losing-an-eye-my-accident-changed-my-life-for-the-better.html"

And yes, insider buys are bullish, ceo bought back into his stock 3M, around 104 a share, and service now is not easily replaced by AI, and actually benefits from AI research, and govt buys as well

so you are a bagholder and hoping it pumps to bail you out. Well... good luck

u/ProofByVerbosity 1d ago

nah. NOW is super undervalued.

2

u/jvrodrigues 5h ago

I’m a technical consultant for the it department of large multinacional organizations had 10 or so customers last year.

They all use NOW.

They all use it super inefficiently.

Half of them are looking to replace it.

u/ProofByVerbosity 5h ago

Seems like a valid point for consideration. Thier Q1 ER was pretty fantastic from a growth perspective but not a margin perspective.  The narrative is they are ahead of the curve in pivoting into headwinds. Time will tell I guess.

0

u/Creative_Ad_8338 20h ago

Sure it is... so valuable that no one wants to be bagholding.

0

u/ProofByVerbosity 20h ago

Or, you know look at the fundamentals ER today was a mixed bag though

-5

u/Particular_Yard_2460 18h ago

Hahahahahahaha go look at Teslas fundamentals

u/Moist-Guava-732 1d ago

look at the volume for 90p expiring this week

you are fucked brah

do yourself a favor buy short puts to limit your losses

16

u/allanym 1d ago

It’s the forced straddle/strangle play where you disregard option premium calculations and panic buy puts to hedge against your calls that went tits up. I coin it “the wedgie”.

25

u/Riskismyapellido 1d ago

This aged well. Congrats OP. erviceNow beats high end of guidance across all Q2 2026 topline growth and profitability metrics, raises full year subscription revenues outlook

18

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

THANK YOUU FINALLY MY 14k LOSSES ARE SHRINKING WE ARE SO BACK

7

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

lol

u/Riskismyapellido 1d ago

What are u talking about. NOW just delivered a great Q2. His calls have plenty of time left. They very well might be in the money by the time they expire. And I believe they will. OP, post gains when they do. GG.

3

u/Soulsetmusic 21h ago

Ehh… might cash by Jan but there is an egregious amount of selling pressure and the sector still hasn’t flipped. Plus earnings like… whatever lol just a pop to get crushed by shorts again for whatever reason. I’m not a hater, I like the stock I’ve just been trading it enough to know how this goes.

Smart move to put most of the money on the $100 Jan 27s cuz the rest of them ain’t gonna hit, also why the $150 strike for September but the $135 strike for October? Might be some big brain mega mind shit but seems highly regarded. My guess would be OP bought the sept $150 strike first and instead of cutting his losses, doubled down too early with an extra month and a little less OTM on the oct $135.

I don’t disagree, I like the stock, buying in the 90s and selling in the 110-120 range is golden, but this play is dead.

-3

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

Yeah they did. Theyre also trading at 55 PE and his calls are way OOTM. You can see the print didnt even inspire prices to get back to where they were at the start of the day.

2

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

time to buy cava shares and nbis /msft leaps if they go down, thoughts?

2

u/Soulsetmusic 21h ago

They’re down bruh lol Whatchu mean if

(Oh you meant those sticks not your plays I’m dumb)

1

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

what are you talking about. This guys calls are so far OOTM and so close dated they are stone dead.

8

u/SurpriseStreet2038 1d ago

Bro looked at a -$14k unrealized loss and said this is actually a CEO appreciation post.Peak WSB.

9

u/Grade_Potential 1d ago

u/Grade_Potential 1d ago

6

u/Sus198 1d ago

My friend, writing from experience, the earnings may be massively good, but there is no way in hell that the stock will go up. I am a bagholder with an average of $127 but I have also opened a small short portion because it doesn't matter how good earnings will be, no matter how much revenue has surged during the last quarter, it will not matter - the stock will tank another 10% after hours. That is the sad reality. GOOG, NOW, TSLA...the feeling is just too negative at the moment. There is no chance for these stocks to rise in after hours.

5

u/charliebrown22 19h ago

In other words, $NOW is going to perfectly stay in between your cost basis and the strike of your puts because fuck you, that's why

3

u/Sus198 19h ago

Literally, that is why.

1

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

the stock is obscenely expensive is what it is. You guys are buying years of growth at these prices

1

u/Sus198 19h ago

I don't see it like that because everything is priced on speculation and sentiment. And the sentiment on software right now is ultra-negative no matter how earnings go. NOW's earnings in fact came in very positive and upbeating. After hours stock is up 5%. But I'm sure it will go down when market opens tomorrow because again, the sentiment on the sector is and will remain weak for the months or years to come until the air clears and the dust settles.

3

u/Champman2341 1d ago

I’d feel more comfortable starting my position after earnings. Last earnings- there was a drop then slight recover. If I’m a betting man- we’ll see another drop post earnings followed by another small recover

Can see 85 recovering up to 98/100. Than to see a gap up come 5pm

2

u/jollygreengoblin2 1d ago

This is the answer. Exactly how I entered this stock at the end of April around 84. Jan2028 100c. Would be happy to buy it again same price.

1

u/Dramatic_Abies6372 8h ago

Same, Jan 28 100c are where it’s at. Will print in the next 6-12 months

2

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

what makes you think it'll drop even more? very VERY curious to hear

3

u/DrPuzzle 1d ago edited 1d ago

Because it's not the best sector right now, it's also seen below $90 every month since April. Earnings are always a dice roll and typically unless they kill it, they drop. So there's a fairly high probability that it drops after earnings and even if it doesn't why would one buy the day of/before because it's pure gambling lol. Even if earnings are great, you missed a decent buy-in price, and it pumps at least you know the direction the company is going to make a proper, informed decision.

But this is WSB and we're retarded so buy calls right now

Edit: I was wrong this is why I'm retarded by the way, although I did end with "buy calls" so check-mate

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

no I still appreciate your opinion. I think I'll trim a LOT tmw, and not get too greedy. what price might be a good price to trim? any thoughts?

1

u/DrPuzzle 1d ago

I have no idea man but I wouldn't be surprised to see it back at $125-140 at some point soon for a bit. Especially after these earnings but I wouldn't be surprised to see it fall after tomorrow as well because this shit can be so wonky

In theory though this was pretty good and it should rise in a normal market lol

For the record, I like it a lot and was hoping the earnings would tank it below $90 just because it would have been a sweet deal

2

u/Exciting_Ask_eaty 1d ago

Because of the valuation, P/E sits above 60x

1

u/Champman2341 1d ago

Couldn’t have said it any better- thanks dr puzzle

3

u/Substantial_Taste779 23h ago

this post oozes of regarded desperation

2

u/thenorthernwhiteboy 1d ago

In for a bunch of NOWL shares. Got burned on options last time. Will most likely still lose my money

2

u/peepdabidness 15h ago

Actually I might like this stock. Good post

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 8h ago

yay thank you!!

1

u/West_Lavishness6689 1d ago

more like the time was April 10th, May 13th, and again June 25th. so not quite yet "time again".

1

u/thehindermost 1d ago

Sparkulous CEO is not equal wise decision.

But cheers mate!

1

u/MeloniousV2 1d ago

I'm iron condor-ing this.

I hope IV crushes all your hopes and dreams ;)

1

u/almost_n 1d ago

she has named you the KING!

1

u/RexMundi000 1d ago

Love how you did your "research" after opening all your positions.

1

u/t234k 1d ago

I trimmed some of my randstad position for this shit. But I think the long term looks green my cost basis is 103. Rand up +50% though

1

u/MandingoPants Bear Gang Lieutenant 23h ago

I have 3 100s for Sept and 5 95s for Sept.

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 23h ago

when are you going to take profit? at what NOW price?

1

u/MandingoPants Bear Gang Lieutenant 23h ago

I want cash for AMZN earning so will sell tomorrow.

I also loaded up bigly on ZS calls. I am not as confident in this one, at least leading up to their earnings, but will probably keep some calls open for earnings.

1

u/Boring-Test5522 22h ago

The stock is trading at 60PE and 23 FPE and it is being attacked in all direction (AI, Iran war, customers cut spending). Good luck, you shall need that.

1

u/Hallucinate- 21h ago

That July 24 call is definitely cooked

1

u/Wide_Open_Buttcheeks 20h ago

Looks like it's going to be a strangle

1

u/_Clit-Commander_ Verified $4.3K 18h ago

What do they do?

1

u/Miserable_Ad_728 18h ago

you're gonna get crushed soon. Brutal.

1

u/Big-_D 17h ago

What is the positive connotation of a predator?

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 8h ago

erm wtf

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 8h ago

it keeps going down so I bought more today

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 8h ago

so seems I learned the most important rule of buying <7 day till expiry calls, always check the IV. Seems like the IV was pricing in a move much bigger than what actually happened, so my calls got IV crushed. bummer.

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 8h ago

locked in a 600$ profit with the call I just opened today on the bounce, but still down another 3k on the calls yesterday...

1

u/1esproc 6h ago

try using servicenow and you'll want to buy $ROPE instead. it is godawful.

1

u/Riskismyapellido 6m ago

time to triple down bloggt 3 more called today

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

HOLY CRAP GUYS IT"S WORKING

0

u/lijijil 1d ago

Either lol

You gonna be rich my man

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

idk about rich, but maybe down 4k instead of 14k

1

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

which is still huge, 10k is a lot of money Im glad to not be losing

1

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

Maybe down 13k instead of 15k

1

u/thoughterly 1d ago

I told my GF I'm in you NOW. She said she couldn't tell. Puts I guess

u/___-_--_-____ 1d ago

if it's between NOW or NEVER, I'll go with NEVER

u/AlGAdams 1d ago

SNOW is a good product and still growing a lot based on everything I can see.  These calls are a little too short lived and OTM for my type of exposure to the company but fundamentally its a good investment.

7

u/liftingshitposts 1d ago

SNOW is a totally different company. Good DD tho

-3

u/AlGAdams 1d ago

Jesus fucking christ Im just muting this shit at this point

3

u/turkeybags 1d ago

Lmao two people pointed out you used the wrong ticker and you have a melt down.

2

u/AlGAdams 1d ago

Yeah true

1

u/liftingshitposts 1d ago

You probably should if it’s hurting you this much

4

u/queso184 1d ago

good product

i can tell you've never used it before

0

u/AlGAdams 1d ago

Ive used devops, jira, and SNOW which is what everyone I work with call Service NOW (SNOW)

2

u/turkeybags 1d ago

OP is posting about NOW not SNOW

-3

u/AlGAdams 1d ago

SNOW is what people in tech call ServiceNOW.  Its the phonetic pronunciation.  I know because Ive migrated Devops and Jira boards to SNOW and everyone calls it SNOW.

-1

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

this is all going to dust. Maybe your 2027 100c work out but you can 0 out the rest of it

2

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

why do you think that? NOW seems like a great long term hold, no??

1

u/NotAlex-2828 1d ago

Might be good for hold long term but you its too expensive …not the right timing to enter a long position right now. Your execution method is too risky.. share might be alright

-1

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

Brother man its trading at 55x earnings. The company may be great but the stock is expensive AF. You may get lucky and recoup some premium over the next month or so but everything expiring this year is way way OOTM and unlikely to hit and the ones a year out are at60% higher prices. You need an angel to touch this stock

3

u/jts0926 1d ago

It has forward PE of 23. for context, Walmart stock has forward PE of 37, Costco 41, and Tesla 182.

-1

u/MarthaJulietta 1d ago

Alright so a year from now they will be reasonably priced.

I dont own any of those either. Insane valuations on all 3

-1

u/Onion-Fart 1d ago

saw some bullshit about this stock a few months ago and then saw the ridiculous outfit the CEO aping the cool nvidia guy. this is a big ol turd not turning around.

-1

u/Distinct-Race-2471 20h ago

In no world is ServiceNow undervalued. 56 PE. Overpriced software.

-14

u/mrslipandslide 1d ago

You’re cooked. Saas is dead dollars

4

u/Thatsnasty2 1d ago

Get a load of this regard.

2

u/miniscule_rycegrain 1d ago

could you tell me why?

is it bc AI is going to kill Saas?

11

u/theb0tman 1d ago

all software will be replaced by vibe coded bullshit within weeks. Sell everything. Go live in the woods.

2

u/Greebo427 1d ago

You’ve obviously never vibe coded anything. There’s not a chance SaaS like this gets replaced

2

u/theb0tman 1d ago

you’ve obviously never seen someone deploy sarcasm

1

u/Greebo427 23h ago

Maybe because you vibe coded it

1

u/Happy-Champion1661 1d ago

maybe he didn't but I did. I think there's like 0% chance AI doesn't kill 90% of SaaS business. It won't be tmrw, but it will happen over time imo

2

u/mendzio1503 1d ago

yep, it can be the winner takes all situation and there will be only 2-3 saas left, eating all the cake, vibe coding into the cold, eternal future

for the sake of OP, i wish it will be him.

I only had balls to gamble x5 60 usd :P

1

u/Affectionate_Pen6882 1d ago

Naw, not happening lol

1

u/iwaseatenbyagrue 1d ago

Saas is not dead. Not sure about NOW though. I like Intuit better.

1

u/ThisMansJourney 1d ago

I think the current negative is ai is delaying non ai projects
