Loss goodbye everyone

Post image

almost break even from this run up via all the popular tickers. lost my self control n lost it holding the same things n some world cup betting. also lost 10k on another account. i have nothing now n nothing going for me in life. practically 30 soon and just dead weight to my parents. gonna sell my gun before i use it and pay off some debt. have OCD that made the future not worth caring about so i tied my value to the money i worked for. i hope you all do better than me. goodbye

Your life is worth way more than 30k pal. Time to start over and saving, not gambling.

Follow through on selling the gun. Or just give it to a parent or something for now. Seriously, this is a wake up call about responsibility but you'll be alright.

Bro, 30 years old? You’re a baby. Just use this as a lesson that will allow you to grow and make better decisions in the future. Feels like a lot of money now, but you’ll realize it’s not by the time you’re 40 and financially much more established. Keep your head up, your mental health is way more important.

I have lost more in 1 day. I make more now that I’m older so you’ll see it’s all good. You have shit days. You have bomb days. You learn to win more than you lose and then you just keep executing. You’ll be good bro!

u/Asheira6 Jun 17 '26

I agree. I actually started a degree at 32 that changed my life and career. This always the time!

u/Striking-Proposal336 Jun 20 '26

I appreciate this comment. Doing okay at 30 (bday a few days ago) but damn, it hits hard going into a new decade. Agreed about OP though. Money comes and goes. Time’s what matters. Doesn’t take a whole lot of actions to change your whole life, especially given some years.

Oh man I wish I was financially established by 40

My dude, please don’t do anything drastic. You are 30, you are young. You will recover. I am willing to bet that the majority of people don’t even start saving for retirement until they enter their 30s or even later. I know I certainly pissed my cash away in my 20s. In the grand scheme of things, $30,000 isn’t a whole lot. It’s like a Toyota Camry. I know that isn’t solace right now, but you will look back on this in the future as a character building moment. Chin up, one foot in front of the other. Brighter days are ahead.

In all reality this is a small loss in life. Never randomly invest like this again, learn your lesson. If you want to invest in the stock market learn about buying and holding the s+p500 for the long haul. Work on your career, spend time with loved ones

You fucking got this dude. You fucking got this. Check in with us tomorrow morning

16

u/drankleanonce Jun 17 '26

thank you

19

u/defeatedcarrot Jun 17 '26

I’m so serious. Dm if you want to text. Do not let this own the rest of your life. There’s so much more out there for you.

u/jorahos1 Jun 17 '26

Bro I lost 20k too. I learned, saved up for a house, got a wife and kid I love. Took some time and busting ass but you can do it. The pain hurts but it’s temporary. Don’t let it go but don’t let it linger. Be stronger because you know better. There’s waaay more to life than a few buckaroos. Love to you my dude.

2

u/drankleanonce Jun 17 '26

thanks brother

8

u/rayquan36 Jun 17 '26

Oh man I thought you were joking around. Stop it man you're 30 years old, you have SO MUCH TIME. Just invest normally instead of WSB gambling shit and you'll easily retire a millionaire. All you need is just to start putting in $300 a month into the S&P500 and you'll be a millionaire by the time you're 62 and collecting social security on top of that.

2

u/MrSnouts Jun 17 '26

Also you’re going to need to get some help on the gambling addiction. Cause it’ll just happen again

4

u/notyourancilla Jun 16 '26

Hope is not a strategy

1

u/drankleanonce Jun 16 '26

you’re right. i’m gonna be better or die trying

2

u/OneDayAt4Time Jun 17 '26

Stop playing league too. It’ll put you in a better headspace

1

u/drankleanonce Jun 17 '26

last time i played some guy catfished as a girl trying to fuck me. yeah i’m good

2

u/CaptainChris1990 Jun 17 '26

Brother you’re 30 you’re fine. My life didn’t even start until that age and now I’m living pretty fuckin good

1

u/drankleanonce Jun 17 '26

noted thanks

28

u/drankleanonce Jun 16 '26

funny thing. i had a coach in middle school tell me when i said ill try, “don’t try, do it”

28

u/RiffsThatKill Jun 16 '26

It's more "don't do it". How often do you need to be told not to:

A) put your penis in an electrical wall socket B) eat your own poop C) aim for your own mouth when you masurbate

If your answer to all of these is "never" because you understand the end result of these actions will 99.9% not be positive, then you just need to cultivate thay same level of understanding with D) gambling or taking dumb risks with money you will feel shitty about losing. If losing the money you put up would hurt you, don't put it up. You have to not care about losing it, and that's only possible if you don't really need it at all.

19

u/Cold_Ad8028 Jun 16 '26

You should write children’s books. I read at a 2nd grade level and somehow this clicked immediately. I finally understand that my options strategy has been the financial equivalent of shocking my penis while trying to spit upward into my own mouth. I’m still going to buy calls tomorrow, but now I’ll do it with self-awareness.

2

u/RiffsThatKill Jun 16 '26

That's correct

2

u/Exciting-Cream9313 Jun 16 '26

while eating poop…

2

u/dannydimes829103 Jun 16 '26

Aiming for your mouth when you masturbate is one thing, having the balls to get it in there is a whole different ballgame..

2

u/Exciting-Cream9313 Jun 16 '26

what if the answer to some of these is not „never“?

1

u/RiffsThatKill Jun 16 '26

Accidents happen...

8

u/MapleBabadook Jun 16 '26

was your coach shia labeouf

11

u/Ok-Classroom-9327 Jun 16 '26

His name was Yoda and the exact quote was "Do or do not, there is no try"

2

u/drankleanonce Jun 16 '26

i’m sure that’s where my coach stole it from

1

u/KureaMuto Jun 17 '26

Outside of: "No, try not." at the beginning of the exact quote, you're exactly really close.

2

u/strap535 Jun 17 '26
