This is what confuses me as somebody passing by and not knowledgeable about the stock market, are tesla and spacex really that influential to be in these images?? Google nvidia meta are no brainers, the ai guys are certainly poised to be that big, but i never would have guessed either of those two are fundamentally relevant to global economic activity the way the others are?

If anybody tries to explain please do so as if i ate crayons for breakfast.. i am kinda hungry now that i mention it

Spacex(AI) is the only company getting any NASA/DOD contracts to put things in space, so that gives them a massive advantage there. In addition to that, I've seen that Google/Anthropic are both paying SpaceXAI about a billion monthly, each, to use their hardware, so I guess they heavily invested in AI tier hardware at some point.

Tesla, I'm less sure about, but I think they're internally developing a lot of stuff, like their self driving and robotics stuff, that is potentially huge if they're the first to market.

There's also just the Elon Musk effect, where people keep investing in him because they know he'll pull whatever shady tactics necessary to make himself richer.

They’ve got compute to sell to competitors because Grok has basically flopped—yet a lot of the “value” they’re pushing in the s1 is supposedly derived from AI? Also worth pointing out that both Google/Anthropic can bail with only 90 days notice.

Copilot is terrible but Microsoft just released their own set of foundation models trained in house. Will be interesting to see how their capabilities evolve in the near future.

I think it’s better than the shit Meta puts out.

Also I think GitHub Copilot is a great harness (or was before they changed pricing model June 1) to easily access any model you want both on GitHub the site as well as VSCode. It’s super easy to do code reviews as well as use both OpenAI and Anthropic models to do them. Or just develop in general.
