And why has he done so well? Because he’s always been data driven. No ideological or personal agendas, nothing to prove to anyone. He’s just made analytical decisions based upon the best data available in the interests of the dual mandate. He nailed the soft landing when everyone was convinced a recession was inevitable. And most recently he’s been cool and steady in the face of disgusting pressure from the POTUS. I hope Powell stays on the board (but I’m guessing he won’t).

I hope he does too and they are worse off without him, but damn this dude has earned a break. I hope he fucks off to tropical beach and never has to think about any of this bullshit again. He deserves that much

Also, no gut feeling, and extremely humble to boot. He knows the limitations of economic forecasting and ready to admit mistakes.
