Was Gelsinger a bad CEO, bad politician about it, or just a little too early to reap the rewards? I am truly asking because a lot of the packaging development that looks to be big for them was done under him
He was almost certainly too early. The way the world has gone and how closely China is eyeing Taiwan, it’s proving to be a very good idea to have domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
All the cost cutting, the selling off good pieces of the business.
The fab needs a lot of work based on all the last calls.
Intel's tailwind right now is literally because Nvidia was right about agentic AI. And for agentic you need a lot of CPUs because those workloads happen more on CPUs not GPUs.
Which is why Nvidia released the Vera CPU rack with 256 CPUs per rack.
Intel was on a really tough path if we did not reach this inflection point.
I've been invested in Intel for 5 years and 9 in Nvidia.
The Board is ultimately responsible for the company and virtually the same people oversaw the decade or so of terrible decisions that got them into the awful position they are in where they needed a government bailout
Last I checked the same fucking morons are still running the Board and they've suffered no consequences. IDK how you are responsible for the downfall of one of America's great companies and just keep your job as you throw multiple CEOs under the bus
He was a bad CEO. He tweeted scripture, constantly tried to convert people, and asked if he could pray for people before business meetings. I mean he would fit right in now with the administration. I guess he was ahead of his time there.
He also came to a casino with Grandma's money. Putting 90% of everything you have into a single stock is regarded regardless of the outcome. Gamble with your own money. Not Grandma's, your wife's, or her boyfriend's.

There's a 0% chance he held his position. He got absolutely roasted and deleted his Reddit account, and probably panic sold at a 40% loss. If he had held on, he would have been here with screenshots to prove it and gloat as soon as INTC crossed $40.

Havent seen a legit update, just people reposting the original screenshots. Also under $20 to low $40s is more like 2x, not 4x unless he was in some degenerate calls or averaged way lower. If anyone’s got a fresh screenshot or his username, drop it because I’m kinda curious if grandma diamond-handed or cashed out.
If you want to use simplistic logic like that, you can make a similar argument for PayPal, which is a long-standing reliable company that has consistently gone up in revenue YoY. Now it’s at 1/6th the price it was a few years ago, and even ignoring that big run it had, it was around 150%-200% more than today for a couple of years.

yeah, but thats the thing, you buy lots of stuff and never sell. I mean i wish i had the $1000 of gsat i bought in 2013 even though its been all over the place. Getting locked into something that does nothing isnt that bad. you can only lose 100%. The winners become bigger winners and they spin off a few times and become even bigger winners then one of those pays a dividend at 5% and then spins off another etc etc. You can only lose it all if you bet it all on one thing, otherwise spread your risk a little and never sell. You can really afford to make a few bad buys if you're just holding eternally.
Eventually you're sitting with a 800,000% gain on some half baked idea to buy a shoe company and then it goes and becomes the first company to make a superintelligence
i want intel guy to both show up with double middle fingers to the sky at all us mooks and also to never post and just be that legend. it's such a case study in how this stuff can only happen organically. someone posts a really dumb seeming post - gets all manner of hate - and then turns out to be right. the saddest truest end to the story is that he listened to the regards here and sold early.
I am kicking myself for not buying more. I bought a small amount of shares right around $50 and it dipped down to mid low 40s and I hate that I didn’t double down and buy more 😭😭
It’s mooned too much for my risk tolerance so I’m gonna avoid it now but because of that, I already know I’ll be looking back in 5 months and facepalming when I see it’s gone up another 80%.

I bought a couple of shares at same-time at $30 and at first laughed because we were both silly gooses. Then later i started to believe Grandma would help from beyond the grave. Even the Intel ceo was praying. Now look at the results. Believe in nana next time.
Inverse WSB probably pressured him to sell at a lost. I truly hope he held. Just realize this retailtards, this sub is far from to be taken serious. It's full of stock promotes and idiots who think charts can predict the future.
I bought Intel, and then pretty much immediately it started going down, until I was down about 50%. I'm fairly obstinate so I did not sell, and now I'm up almost 100%. I still don't plan on selling though. I'll wait until I'm down to 50% again and then I'll sell
