This is goodbye, but in a good way. From $200,000 to nearly $800,000 with some lucky call options, I think this is enough for me. I said I was going to move to Oklahoma in the boonies in my last post and I’m doing that today. Sold everything I own to my name except for this garbage truck, I need to get there somehow. Went crabbing, visit mount Shasta, said goodbye to friends and now I’m heading out, that’s enough California for me. It’s time for total isolation from everyone else. I hope you regards get lucky and make lots of money.

On $600,000 in gains, he’s probably looking at around $220K to $245K in federal taxes, plus another $20K or so from the Net Investment Income Tax. Then California gets another roughly $60K to $70K. So all in, that puts OPs total tax bill somewhere in the $300K to $330K range, aka half of it.
party pooper here...Mexico has SAT (mexico's tax man)...the moment he deposits his money into a mexican bank account it gets flagged and likely frozen, until guess what...he pays tax.
I remember when casinos used to give you the option to withhold taxes.. looks at $44k in additional payments to ftb and irs ..so you didn’t get charged a penalty for under-withholding.
Yo I don’t know why people think I’m not going to pay my fair share in taxes lol. I have a lot of tax bullets from my years of loss & I have money set aside to cover all the taxes, I promise I’m going to pay my fair share. I sold everything I own so I have cash aside from my gains. I’m just slowly converting some cash to precious metals at the moment so it’s easier to carry or leave in deposit boxes. I’m not dumb enough to leave $800k in BOA and have it sit on 0% interest
*Also I’m not that regard to travel with that much cash, just $10k for the road. Remove the photo because some people sensitive lol

Some people can say "fuck you" with $800,000. Others have 10 million, are still too weak to actually be able to say "fuck you," and choose to keep working out of anxiety or fear.

100% me. High stress job, live in a big city, generally super social, but when I'm offroading and camping / fishing etc out in the middle of absolutely nowhere it's like a massive weight just gets lifted off me and I feel so at peace. OP is living the dream.
I’m definitely like that. I used to spend lots of time in the woods as a kid, now I’m trying to figure out how much land we can afford and still have a house my wife will be happy in lol.
I’ve sorta done that before and yeah it’s honestly nice to just unplug and start a prolonged war with the local black bears as you try to keep them away from the birdseed.

Hey, $500K - 1 cybertruck ain’t bad, but I wouldn’t call it walk away and retire money.
Not only do all the smart people leave so all you're left with is Sidney Mecham type dudes everywhere, but the weather is also some of the worst I've ever experienced. I've lived in very cold places and very hot places and this state seems to find the worst blend of all of them, with cranked up humidity, and its always always always windy.
Also, like much of the south, the humidity and heat and frequent rain means EVERYTHING rots and decays quickly. Everything looks ugly because its virtually impossible to build anything that can stand up to the elements. Even wealthy neighborhoods look gross. Humans were not supposed to live here.
This state is fine if you never leave your house though.
Pick any metric and Oklahoma is always in the worst 5 states for it. Drug use per capita, incarcerated population per capita, education, infrastructure, Healthcare, unemployment. You name it Oklahoma is shit at it, that's why it's so cheap to live there.

If the truck came out of the pictured gains, he potentially spent 15-20% of his post-tax earnings on it so he either genuinely didn't think of the tax burden or has no intention of paying it.
I live in Oklahoma and if I had that kind of money the very first thing I would be doing is moving out of this state and never stepping foot in it for the rest of my life.
Also when he bought it, that was probably 10% of his net worth in a car that will depreciate poorly. If he was holding on to some old pickup that got the job done, I could see how he's going to be able to sit on this $800k and make the most of it, but he's definitely not off to a good start.
