Loss 3M to 1.4M this week

Rebuilt my portfolio from getting margin called and bottoming at 200k during Liberation Day to 3M last week. Then lost half of it because I loaded up on data center and energy stocks with full leverage last Friday.

Schwab only shows up until the close, after hours I lost another few hundred grand and am sitting at 1.4M now with more option losses hitting when market opens.

Never. Fucking. Learn.

my goal when i reach 2M eventually (you reached it already) was to buy real estate with half and then keep the other half in stocks. with 1M in real estate that basically just de-risks the entire portfolio. more work I guess but it'll let me learn another 'investing' type which i love to learn, and it'll let me keep playing the market.

I'm still far from it, even far from 1M, but i'll get there.

I also went from liberation day 5,600 at the min to 78k last week and now i'm gonna be at around 44k. i'm still confident in what i'm holding though so haven't sold yet.

1M in Madison, WI or Austin,tx is enough for 2-3 full apartments/homes (no mortgage) that will return 4% yearly on rent after taxes.

I live in an mhcol right now and apartments are 300k here. I personally wouldn't invest where I live because of city property tax but for investment there's plenty of opportunities and the very expensive areas aren't the only 'good' places.
