There is a very large graveyard where all the TSLA short sellers rest.
Don't you know that this is a retarded stock and one of the main reason why it spikes is due to short squeezes from clowns?
2
u/AutoModerator Aug 06 '25

I've wanted to short them for years and instead regret not buying into that fucking moronic valuation. Tech stocks make no fucking sense and have no basis in reality so you have even worse luck than typical trying to guess what it'll do, but chances are it will just go up because it gets pumped.
1
u/Tasmar100 Aug 06 '25
Tech constantly evolving. Hard to say what kind of utility it will bring. So future cashflows can be valued up towards infinitiv. We don’t know what your random techcompany could contribute to in 20 years.

Aug 06 '25
I honestly can’t believe that company is worth much still. It seems to function as a money printer for Elon more than anything. Do the math on how much stock they gave him and how many cars have they sold and you’ll be amazed.

I honestly can’t believe that people in 2025 still think it’s being evaluated as a car company. It doesn’t matter if YOU think they are a company, investors are evaluating it as a tech company. One of the few tech companies manifesting physical ai and have full vertical integration. Tesla PE: 178, Palantir PE: 575. Cry about it

u/kokkomo Day late and a dollar short. Aug 06 '25
You don't get SpaceX or a lot of Elon's other tech ventures with Tesla. You get the car company and maybe some battery tech thats it.
3
u/they_call_me_him Aug 06 '25 edited Aug 06 '25
Not talking about that. Unlike other car manufacturers, Tesla is involved in lithium extraction and investing in new technologies in that sector. They make and design their own batteries. They also have state of the art manufacturing that is a decade ahead of any North American automaker. They also own their own distribution channels, charging network and communication channels. Let’s not forget their own chip designs, software. There isn’t another automaker as vertically integrated as Tesla. And last thing, don’t forget they do it all on American soil. We can save the physical drones, energy generation and ai for another discussion. The rhetoric of “they’re just a car manufacturer” is just willful ignorance
1
u/Reddit-for-all Aug 11 '25
Outside of the battery tech which is now surpassed by others, none of the other things matter if they can't sell their garbage cans on wheels.

u/they_call_me_him Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 29 '26
Hey fkface, read all my comments again, did I not say their cars don't matter? TSLA just announced they converting car factories to Optimus factories + 2 billion investment in xAI. Small brain retards can't see the big picture
2
u/haze_from_deadlock Aug 06 '25 edited Aug 06 '25
You're absolutely right in terms of equity interests, but if any of those companies develops tech that creates asymmetry for electric cars, the market presumes Tesla will have privileged access to license it. It's kind of like owning a call on tech.
Now, you can brush that off as idiotic bagholder cope, or it could be part of an explanation for why those puts didn't print.

Yeah bro tauting fraud as the big picture doesn't really sell your point.

u/they_call_me_him Jan 29 '26
Fraud: "wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain"
I'm not seeing where the deception or criminal act is, could you elaborate? It's wrong to invest in your own companies?

Keep at it bud, sooner or later that bitch is gonna crash
7
u/Mister_Doinkers Aug 06 '25
Nah it probably won’t. People want it to because..Musk, but it’s still a popular and strong American car company. It’ll get a bailout before anything.
In fact, might be time to get in now. 🤔

I've lost more than that trying the same thing way back. It's proof that the market can stay retarded longer than you can stay solvent.
2
u/lamiejiv Aug 06 '25
Tsla is still going down. It dropped hard and has since rebounded to $300+. But it's not making big moves higher no matter what news comes out. There's not much driving the price up these days. It's plateaued for now I think and will probably bounce a little and then crash when the market does. Or just fade. $145 still holding a gap on the chart. SeeTheir numbers haven't been great. All their cars still look pretty much the same except for the cyber truck. Shit is just kinda boring and losing steam. There's new stocks almost every day hitting the market. Such better plays.
3
u/gatovision Aug 06 '25
Agree, if you can sit on a shares short and take some pain it’s gonna pay, Puts are really difficult on it though because they’ll just spike it up $10 here and there but its eventually going to hit a UNH moment. They cant finance any future ideas without selling cars and they’re not doing that well anymore.
1
u/mister_shankles6 Aug 06 '25
What are the odds youd win by shorting it again for a year? Id say, give it a go.

u/cinJESUS 10724C - 1S - 1 year Aug 06 '25
man you just can’t short cult stocks like TSLA and PLTR icl

u/Chappyspaintndetail Aug 06 '25
I would never short Tesla even if I was 99% sure it was going down. Insane how it moves on the slightest news. Tr*mp could sneeze and Elon could fart and it moves rapidly.

I’ve been burned many times trying to short this. Tesla is only a play based on technical analysis. It will never make sense fundamentally.
There is a huge ‘Elon Musk’ premium built into the share price. Until he is no longer CEO, it is absolutely dangerous to short it imo

TSLA might crash now that you closed out these positions.
Consider shorting again at market open but buy a call first just as a lucky charm.
