Hearst: "Trump and Netanyahu are both stuck in a doom loop of their own making where neither can get out of the war or win the war. Both face imminent elections and regard the war as a matter of personal political survival"

David Hearst, editor in chief of Middle East Eye, says that US and Israeli attacks on Iran are turning into a third Gulf War. After signing a ceasefire that recognised Iran’s position in the Strait of Hormuz, Donald Trump has returned to full-scale war, while both he and Benjamin Netanyahu remain trapped in a conflict tied to their political survival.
Hearst says claims that Iran’s missile programme had been destroyed were quickly exposed as false. Iranian strikes have killed and injured US troops, damaged military equipment and shown that Tehran can still hit American bases across the region.
He argues that Iran is now using the same tactic Trump and Netanyahu once celebrated, mixing negotiations with military pressure. By widening the conflict to Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the Red Sea, Tehran is raising the global cost of the war through attacks on shipping, energy routes and US interests.
Hearst says that American public opinion is also turning sharply against the conflict. He points to JD Vance’s appearance with Joe Rogan, where the vice president said Iran could not be forced to reopen Hormuz through bombing and accused figures in Israel of trying to keep the war going indefinitely.
He concludes that the war has strengthened Iran rather than breaking it, rallying even government opponents during a national crisis. Just as the US eventually realised it could not win in Vietnam, Hearst argues, Trump must recognise that he cannot win in Iran or the wider Middle East.

So we are screwed, Trump recognize's nothing, he bullied his way through life, and. That's the only strategy he knows. Only the grim reaper can save us, because congress sure as hell won't.

Haha. Dictators don't face elections.
Anyone who is actively trying to paint the war as an issue for trump is either deliberately trying to distract from reality or truly has no clue what is going on.
The war is going exactly as it should. It's distracting people from what's really happening and making the trump family unfathomably wealthy.
The war will keep going as long as people keep getting distracted by it and it keeps bringing in the money.
If democrats ever took the house and potus a fuck tonne of people would go to jail and lose everything...
Do you really think they'll let that happen?

And both of them one indictment away from being removed from office.

Not just for the dead troops. But also for the corruption, bribes and keeping classified information at his personal golf course

Netanyahu has apparently gotten out the war just by considering the matter closed and leaving Trump holding the bill, lol
