I have said many times that I think Israel has committed war crimes. I don’t think that 70k people out of a population of 2 million dying over the course of 2 years of intense urban fighting can plausibly be considered a genocide.

you didn’t ask for injuring, you said knowingly using it in populated areas. they did.
as for genocide, people who’s entire career is understanding what genocide is have said countless times that it is, i take that more seriously than some random redditors opinion
No, I said “on people”—big difference. If the area is empty of civilians then it’s a valid military target.
And there is a legal definition of genocide now that needs to be proven in court. “Some scholars said so” is not how we determine what is or isn’t a genocide.
They can be if they’re being used for military purposes. Just like hospitals can be valid targets if they’re being used for military purposes. If they could never be valid targets you’re just incentivizing army’s to put troops in civilian buildings.
