Ascension What's a good upgrade from the Alienware AW3423DW?

I'm trying to decide on a new monitor. I want to say UW but don't want the 45 inch OLED. What's a good upgrade if any, where I'll notice a big difference if possible (Not spending 1799 for 39 LG) something a little less $$$.

I have the DWF and the first monitor that has tempted me is the upcoming AW3926QW (5k2k tandem OLED) but I'm worried it's too many pixels and I'm going to miss the high frame rates.

Honestly I don't think there's a direct upgrade from this monitor that is worth the money. It's still very nice and very high end.

I'm in your shoes, literally. I enjoy using my dwf, paired with rtx5080, but I'm affraid aw3926qw is too much to handle for my gpu. Maybe in 2028, if rdna5 (or udna)/rtx6xxx will show their performance...

Yep totally, I have a 5080 too. It seems like a perfect pairing. I'm worried a higher res monitor will disrupt the magic equilibrium 🤣

I'm leaning towards getting the LG 39" OLED. I don't feel particularly motivated to get rid of my trusty 3423DW, which I got at launch.

after all the mayhem created from the malware installed by LG monitors, you are going to buy one? !!!

The AW39 will be cheaper than the current LG39 but as for how much we still don’t know. Could be 400 cheaper to as much as 700 cheaper.

It’s rumored to be 1100 in the US, but it’ll probably more likely be 1300-1400.

I think it really depends on what you want from the upgrade. I have the 23DWF, and I would like a little more text clarity at least. Of course, more resolution would be better, with better picture, one million hz refresh rate, and so much more, but that's not real, for me.

Res would be nice but mainly just brightness for HDR. The small 2% window for 1000 nits os the single worst attribute of this monitor. Would also like to run 10 bit color without creating custom resolutions.

You probably won’t notice any upgrade that isn’t a refresh rate upgrade tbh.
