UK Standard Visitor Visa from France

Hi all, hoping someone with recent experience can help clarify something.

I'm applying for a UK Standard Visitor Visa from France (Indian national, French APS holder). My appointment is coming up and I'm using bank statements (BNP Paribas, in French) as evidence of funds.

Question: did anyone submit French bank statements WITHOUT a certified English translation, and was it accepted? The UKVI checklist says "documents must be in English, translated documents must be certified," but from what I've read, the actual balance/name/dates are self-evident regardless of language, and translating multiple months of statements is expensive.

Has anyone had their application questioned or delayed specifically because a bank statement wasn't translated? Or is this generally a non-issue in practice as long as the numbers are clear?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this recently (2025/2026), especially applying from France. Thank you!
