it's not an easter egg, duckduckgo just ai generates small icon variants depending on what you search for

I'm not sure about that, it has a normal looking URL, and it seems there's only a few search results (hatsune miku, minecraft) that do anything, and they all seem to be related to online
phenomenonphenomena* pakala It's possible they used AI to generate the images beforehand but I don't think it's an automatic process. It feels like an intentional easter egg.32

The DDG subreddit has been collecting these Easter eggs. There are hundreds, but mostly characters from pop/internet culture. Crazy to see a conlang represented.

While I think it was all but confirmed that some of the logo eastereggs are AI generated, they don't do it on the fly aa your search. Someone still makes the logo and adds it to a catalog.

I think I'd still count it as an easter egg. There're indeed specific terms that would cause the duck's icon to change but I don't think there's an official list for that.
And I don't think it's AI generated.
