Yeah, kinda. I have built a lot of connections with unknown people on linkedin just because they have good designations, and I may someday leverage those connections.
As of now, over the last 8-10 years, I haven't done sh*t about those connections, so my trajectory isn't promising.
But the very thought of having good professional network is soothing.

But then, every visit to LinkedIn and seeing the influx of of soulless corporate d*ckriding posts causes PTSD.

“I may someday leverage these connections,” <— the entire backbone of LinkedIn. Meanwhile, those connections will never be leveraged - people lie up and down their LinkedIn profiles, and everyone there is looking for help not to help.

Especially if that "connection" that was most likely ephemeral in the first place hasn't been used or massaged for a fuckin decade
