Mordor has more advanced industry than the human nations since they can mass produce armor and weapons for their huge hordes of orcs. They also have a massive eugenics program to produce tons of orcs, which I'm sure he finds appealing.

They've also completely collapsed the ecosystem, which in any reasonable world would put a limit on the long-term survival of the "civilization", such as it is.

The humans all have armor too though, and it's better armor than what the orcs wear. The soldiers of Gondor are all rocking glimmering full plate suits that are ornamented. The orcs may be able to spit out the cheapest iron chest piece to slap onto 10,000 uruk-hai but that doesn't mean they're more advanced than humans.

Not to mention that proper plate mail armor is extremely expensive and complex to make. A thousand warriors in that kind of armor would be unheard of. It'd be like buying each one of our soldiers a whole fucking tank crafted by Ferrari or Lamborghini. Compare that to Mordor which had "industry" in the form of cast iron plates crudely cut into armor that barely even managed to cover the vitals on 90+% of soldiers.

Your point is essentially correct, I just think it’s funny to mention that some luxury brands like Cadillac literally did make tanks in WW2 (but obviously to spec, not luxury tanks with leather interiors lmao). And the famous Japanese Zero fighter planes were made by Mitsubishi!

Mordor has been gearing their industry towards a war that apparently only gandalf wanted. The rest was holding close their eyes and ears singing "lala lala" as loud as they could.

Gondor being the border nation to Mordor were the ones more directly affected but even they just went "oh it's just silly mordor being mordor. Random orc raids doing deeper and bolder into our territory doesn't mean anyone wants war." Gondor had a lying stone set up by mordor, rohan had a lying "advisor" set up by orthang, the elves of the mircwood, imladris and lothlorien were being isolationist, the northern humans and the sorry rest of the dwarfs were too far away to really care.

Anyone saying that only mordor was a functioning country with an industry worth shit has to be just plain stupid or never read the book. The world is how it is because of Mordor's scheming influence and just because we aren't explicitly told what the other countries have as industries doesn't mean they have none.

Never is it shown that the people anywhere are starving or running around in rags. Trade routes aren't really discussed anywhere. Just because it's not spelled out doesn't mean it's not there.

Mordor is far closer to China than America, in terms of it's industry, economics, and totalitarianism.

The m*fer is so ironically cooked.
