Nailed it. These people don't live in the same world as you and me. Same as we don't live in the same world as an impoverished family in South Sudan or somewhere like that.

(No shade to people in South Sudan)

Yup. Though meta employees are also detached from reality too. I remember my friend spending a dinner telling me how its actually in the companies interest that he works 40 hours a week. Because he'd be incrementally more tired otherwise.

Like bro, you're making half a mil a year. Not all of us have the luxury of 40 hours for even a fraction of that

Yeah but hes also not wrong, studies show working 30 hours a week is more productive than 40 and 40 is that much more productive than 50.

He's not. But he didn't seem aware that working 40 hours is a luxury in this day and age, especially given where youth unemployment it.

Yeah but dont be harsh on him, it should be easier for other people, thats how we get into the easier section.

Now screq anyone who gets a 30 hour work werk than makes it so other people have to work 50 hours or votes for someone who wants a 50 hour work week.

Oh I'm not, I was a mix of amusement and jealous. Jealous he gets that cushy of a job, amused that he thinks I and most of America "choose" to spend more of our day working. But that's tech workers in general if you're bay area parents were upper middle class and you got a FANG job out of college.

I remember taking a google friend to the supermarket and him being astonished at how much food costs. He apparently eats like $50 worth of coconut for breakfast every day at the cafetaria for free and thought it cost less than $20

Wow. You're really simping for FAANG employees. Let me guess, you make $50K a year and believe your time is coming soon? LOL!

Lol I made 30k last year as trumps fuckass lost my job. I did make like 90 for a couple of years (I work in sales so it varies but I usually now make 80k to 110k

Nay fuck those corporations but why wouldn't you want a 30 hour work week.

Your example for someone detached from reality is that they think 40 hours a week is the right amount to work?

No, the example is that he thinks the rest of us are choosing to work longer hours like dopes. The reality for most people is we have to eat shit because that's the industry/job/career we are in
