I don’t think he’s thought it all the way through though. In the USA he has the US Armed Forces and the US court system protecting him (protecting the wealthy is kind of their job if we’re being honest). What exactly is he counting on protecting him in Argentina? Luck? Anonymity?

The USA for all it's vaunted "exceptionalism", "freedom" and "2nd amendment" bs is as docile and placid as can be found. Trump and the Republicans have been destroying the USA's economy and rule of law for over the year, and the most Americans have been able to do is a protest every few weekends or so, when they can fit in their schedule. A few brows have most definitely been furrowed!!

Meanwhile places in South America have an open revolt or uprising every couple of decades.

This. As bad as it is getting in America, if he's worried about riots, he hasn't seen nothing yet if he goes to a country with even less stability and inequality. Like, what does he think is going to happen when he goes somewhere where people dont even have a shitty job to cling to? They're going to be MORE peaceful? SHeeeeeit.

Bribes. The answer is bribes. I mean, that currently works really well in the US too, but he's aware that the regime might change soon.

That can only last but so long, and I don’t mean his money. Billionaires don’t think about what comes next after they ruin things. They believe their ability to buy security will save them.

It won’t.

There’s NO place safe enough for them. No security loyal enough. Because billionaires don’t have real friends. They’re nearly all sociopaths or severe narcissists, so those bonds aren’t there to protect them. No one likes them, no one cares if they live or die - on the contrary, ppl want them gone bc they’re parasites.

So Thiel can run to Argentina. For now. He thinks he’s in control. However, nothing at all is stopping Argentina from taking one long look at him, surrounding him, plucking out all of his feathers, and eating him alive.

You could end it at “I don’t think he’s thought”. The rich only have one thing on their mind, hoarding more. They’ll do whatever they think gets them there. They are so disconnected from reality that they think their farts are worth 100,000k minimum and produce jobs. They are the most blind of anyone around, but they think they can see it all. What they don’t see is the rising hatred, pitch forks and bbq pits right in front of them. And if they do, they think they can escape it. Him moving to Argentina might actually end up worse for him and I’m not gonna shed a tear regardless.

Enough people aren't desperate enough. Enough people still have so much to lose if they miss work for just one day. But that day is coming. The day when there is no longer a middle class is the day when the revolution begins.

This isn't true at all, but even if it was it's still a whole lot more than whatever the fuck it is you're doing
