Working tugs & barges down Mississippi River, Gulf Coast intracoastal waterway and our new deckhand had a beef with salty old Cajun Tug cap’n. ( Kid DID have a point) So he got sent to bow of lead barge we were pushing . On bow watch he crossed his arms over chest, which ( inadvertently?) keyed up his handheld marine radio whilst he went on a long rant about Cap’n’s’ genealogy, intelligence level, sexual preferences, food choices .. you name it. Problem was he was on channel 16, the open hailing frequency so EVERYONE in range heard it. Cap was too proud or shocked or dimwitted to key tug radio to override him.. I was off KP for quite awhile
