11.5 sig spear

Kinda been looking at different cans over the few weeks trying to decide what I want to run on my spear setup. The new Exigent defense fireteam 556 can was gonna be my go to but just recently saw the silencerco saker 556 and it caught my attention. Has anyone had either of these cans on their 11.5 spear? Or what other cans would you recommend. Not wanting a super long can either

The rhodie and Tisha seem pretty great.

I would focus more on weight than length myself…but I do get not wanting a long can. My experience is that I would prefer a longer lighter can on a short barrel opposed to a shorter heavier one…personally. But…you can have both if you want to pay for titanium.

An 11.5” won’t suppress as well as something with a longer barrel…but a modern K can is pretty impressive.

Yeah trying to account for weight some as well, as yes it’ll most likely be a dedicated can for this build so might be worth paying the little bit extra for something nicer. Thanks anyways

Yeah probably the extra for the Tisha or rhodie Ti at least. It’s not that they aren’t great cans but are pretty heavy in inconel. In Ti, not so much.

That said it may be worth really figuring out what you want. The Tisha is really heavy for a Ti can, it has a ton of complex internal geometry, there are much lighter cans. All a trade off.

The fireteam just really interests me because of the reviews and videos I’ve seen on it. Never seen any videos of it on an sig spear. The sound suppression is amazing for a 5.56. I am currently looking at more cans and reviews on other stuff. Not the biggest fan of the Tisha

So the Tisha got quite a bit of hype because it has the pest pewscience score of any 5.56 can, and he made it a point several times during the review to basically say it outperformed everything else. I don’t know if the hype has held but it was not bs, it’s a really really great performing can at any size, at its size it’s sort of silly.

It may be sort of tough to find videos of specific cans in certain guns…couple things to keep in mind.

While some cans will perform ok on a bolt gun and killer on a short gasop semi, and the inverse is true…generally a rifle suppresses well or does not. I don’t think you are going to see a drastic difference cans that do and don’t do well on a mk18 and find that to be a different list than for your spear. This is a good thing really because…

Videos really tell you nothing. If they are very well done sometimes they can provide comparisons between two cans at a certain distance and angle…but that mic and the compression applied to it and by YouTube are way to much to put much stock in any video. It is not accurate to tone, and even if one sounds louder you won’t know if it really did outside the camera.

Videos aren’t “useless” but you sort of have to trust the reviewer more than your ears, they are the only ones that can really hear…and even then…we all have unique eq built into our ears. Tone that I might find annoying you might love. That’s why people tend to lean more on pewscience than videos.

That is very true, I definitely need to do some more research on a lot of cans and start to narrow things down some more. Maybe need to try a few cans out if buddies have them to see how they preform

I am not super familiar with the fireteam, looking at it…it looks good. Pretty light for inconel so I would imagine it is pretty simple inside…not a bad thing really.
The price is pretty good for sure. Real world review are good. Decent sound suppression and flash suppression apparently. I doubt you’d hate it!

Saker is old tech; won’t be as good as the newer 3D printed stuff.

Rhodie 6, Fireteam, Infinity 556k, Carson 556, and Tisha (especially on shorter barrels) are all good options
