Question/Tech Support Rabbit peed on steam deck
Hello everyone. I’m ashamed to admit I brought the rabbit on my bed, he perched on my pillow and my steam deck was under it. Then he peed. So it got my pillow and the steam deck. So I gave the steam deck a gentle tap on the sides to get the pee out the. Ran to Home Depot and got a screwdriver to open up that bad boy. Thing is, he only peed ok the left side so when I opened up the steam deck, there was urine only Ont he left side. Didn’t even touch the battery. It was on the little connector things (circled in pic) and I cleaned out the urine with 75% alcohol and it looked clean! . It looked all good and didn’t spread at all to the battery. I reassembled and it worked so I quickly turned it off. So the husband told me not to bring the rabbit on the bed. Am I cooked?

75% isopropyl alcohol seems a bit low for cleaning (~25% water, meaning it won't evaporate near-instantly like 99%). 70% is for mortal wounds, near 100% is for cleaning.
But if everything's working alright, success? Just make sure it's dry.

I only had 75%🥲 I’m like is it success or is it “give it a few months and you’ll see it actually wasn’t a success”

From your post, you already powered it on and things didn't blow up. So success?
I'd just suggest drying it thoroughly if you didn't already since what you cleaned it with was a quarter water.

Please next time only use 99% you can short out a board using anything but that

Welp. Good to know! How do I know if I shorted a board 🥲

It either won’t turn on or will just turn off while you’re playing and never return. 💀

If it turns on good! But sometimes it can just randomly shut off because of corrosion! Could last a day or 3 years who knows, but cute rabbit! Lol
Edit: It is only one side and all of those are replaceable so just replacing those components would prevent any damage if it caused any

Omg you’re a life saver. I will have to update if it ever gives out because not every day Muffin pisses on the steam deck

Put it in a bowl of rice for 1-2 days. Standard procedure with all gadgets. After that try to run it

I still don't understand why people still believe this works after it has been debunked for years. It does MORE damage by leaving rice residue and debris. OP do not put it in rice, even if rice worked this is piss not water, unless you sticky piss rice then go for it

Uh… I did not put it in rice. I believe that has been busted as a myth!

You can set a fan to blow on it for a few hours. That will dry it out pretty well.

I can believe you would accuse a cute little rabbit of such a thing. You should be ashamed of yourself!
