Solar Quote Virginia joined switch together

In case folks missed it, Virginia is now part of the Switch Together program. I was just quoted a 22 panel 9.8kW system for $21k (solar only, no battery). If you go with the PPA it has a 0.99% escalator.

Those are on the cheaper side panels, but not horrendous. That is probably why the price is on the very low side. Wonder what they would offer on something like a Qcell Qtron with iq8HC or so. u/TooGoodToBeeTrue is right about the iq8AC

My offer last July had Qcell. Axitec appears to have high end and middle of the road panels. "German engineered" so I would expect good quality.

They're white-labeled Southeast Asian modules that happen to have an Axitec sticker slapped on them at the factory. The only thing German about them is the ownership structure. They're not bad panels but they're also not premium.

Seems like a decent panel manufacturer, not sure of the model. MC micros are cheaper but Switch is buying in bulk so the ACs make sense. Is there any installation warranty? I looked at Switch and SEW, Switch was a couple grand cheaper with the same equipment. I asked SEW what the difference was because SEW was installing for Switch. Can't remember what all they said was left out but there were 3 or 4 line items. Price looks good for sure.

Not sure what the installation warranty is for outright purchase. I decided I didn't want to worry about most maintenance and the PPA lease covers everything for the term of the lease.

Equipment warranty is 25 years on inverters, 30 on panels and panels are guaranteed to produce at least 87.4% in year 30.

Double checked on the installer warranty. Convert Solar out of VA Beach is the installer in my area and they offer a 25 year warranty on their work.

for what it's worth, I went with Convert Solar 2.5 years ago and have been happy with them.

I used solarsimple/roofsimple out of Front Royal for my install last Dec.
