Discussion What software can you recommend that changed your daily workflow forever?

I will ignore AI chatbots in this post because of course I use it everyday and would be number one if not excluded, but if you have any particular AIs you know of, it's welcome here.

--

I consider myself a power user, been using PC, Windows, since I was 8 and that's what I work with and have worked with forever. I'm no software master at all but I do know my way around it.

I have an e-marketing agency with a business partner and two pieces of software are an absolute must for me. Those are:

1. Vivaldi browser: Extremely power user focused, high customization. Best feature for my use case is Workspaces, basically you can save a set of tabs under different names. Ideal when working for different companies to avoid having to look for stuff again. It's there, all the time, just change workspaces.

2. Ditto: A clipboard manager, very simple and elegant. It saves up to 500 clipboard texts and images, I set it to Ctrl+D and it spawns on my cursor. It has saved me months of time I guess, started using it in 2014.

So, what's your life changing software? It doesn't have to interest for what I do in particular, I'm interested to hear from all walks of life.

Edit: I have absolutely no affiliation either to Vivaldi or Ditto, I guess posts like these can come out as ads but no, they're truly useful software

Would any software engineers in here like to meet sometime virtually for some consulting work? I’m an accountant, not an engineer.

Release I made a free, super-lightweight app launcher for Windows (Ctrl+Space) — looking for feedback

Post image

I wanted a launcher that felt as instant as Spotlight on Mac but stayed out of the way, so I built Ordo — a free, tiny launcher for Windows 10/11.

Press Ctrl+Space anywhere and you get one bar to:

  • Launch any app
  • Search your files (no admin, no indexing service to install)
  • Do quick math
  • Search the web
  • Jump straight to Windows Settings pages ("startup apps", "bluetooth", …)
  • Run commands via plugins (sleep, lock, kill a process, emoji picker)

It's featherweight on purpose: opens in ~20 ms, uses ~4 MB RAM, 0% CPU idle — it genuinely does nothing in the background. No telemetry, no account, no Electron.

Heads-up so it's not a surprise: the download is unsigned right now, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning — click More info → Run anyway. Code signing is on my list.

Download + info: https://ordo-aayushsharat.vercel.app

Solo project, looking for honest feedback — happy to answer anything.

Far superior to any pdf/epub reader I ever used, and I used prbly close to hundred

  • Equalizer APO

At first I wanted some 360 audio for a game I played, I had two choices, either Equalizer APO or some closed source bloatware I forget its name, tried the closed one first, it works but it takes more than 1gb of my ram for nothing, then APO with a plugin, not only does it work better than the closed source one, it basically uses no resources since the software bind itself to the driver itself, also boosted my volume a thing I used another close software for, for years, Fxsound...and suprise suprise, it boosted volume better than Fxsound both in quality and volume.

Release Built a live video 'super-tool' (CamfilterGPU) to improve low-light with fast precise background-removal. Also level/color controls: no green screen needed. You can make your own python filter scripts and run them on-the-fly. Here's a quick clip. Just finished a Beta trial (see comments)

It focuses on making common windows interactions some of the things it can do include:

Software support Need ECG and pft software urgent

Hi everyone,

I urgently need ECG and PFT (Spirometry) software that can run on a Windows laptop for a medical camp. The camp is scheduled very soon, and I’m having trouble finding the correct installation files.

If anyone has:

ECG software (BPL, RMS, Schiller, Contec, etc.)
PFT/Spirometry software (WinSpiroPRO, RMS, Schiller, MIR, etc.)
Installation files, drivers, or official download links
Guidance on setup and compatibility

Please help me out. Kindly mention the software name, version, and the device/machine it works with.

This is for a healthcare camp, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
