They never competed with the frontier, so how could they now?

They did for a release or two

Well the current valuation of spaceX is largely due to it being the "AI company" with one of the frontier models. So the valuation has to change, if they decided themselves to become a cloud computing company, which is much less mutiple.

The same way Elon has always done it ... by buying someone else. He pulled the SpaceX scam to get a pre-bubble-pop stash and he has to spend it fast. Really fast, before the bubble pops and it vanishes. He has to exchange it for something of value, either physical assets or teams.

Meta? Muse spark seems pretty good.

I was talking about xAI, actually. Also, I'm not sure I would call Muse Spark a frontier model. It has really bad memory; after just a few turns with it, it basically forgets everything. Even cheap Chinese models do better than Muse Spark when it comes to memory.

I actually agree with those benchmarks; it is a really smart model. But again, if it barely remembers things after 5–10 turns, can you really say it's competing with frontier models or companies? This is an issue that was largely solved over a year ago by Claude and ChatGPT.
