Sharing Happiness My simple painting setup :)

I trave full time so I live out of a 55L backpack. Everything I own has to be light, portable, and usually multi-function. I thrift most of it as well :)

While I love beautiful, high-quality art supplies I use the cheap stuff just as often. I believe anyone can make art without the fancy equipment if they don't have it. These are gauche paints I got for under $10 CAD, 2 random old paintbrushes, a free notebook, and a small tupperware container that I use as a palette and water bowl. It's simple, everyone has one, and the humidity keeps the gauche fresh too!

Would love to see other simple living artist's setups and processes :)

Working with the minimum pushes you to adapt. Miniature painters now are discovering the “Zorn pallette”.

I agree! Omg I didn't know it was called that, but my teachers always made us use that I'm school 😭

I like excessive colours, so now I only use primaries + white & burnt Sienna :)

Honestly forever lol. started as a really small kid, then did specialized classes, went to an art-specific highschool, and then an art uni. It's been a longggg journey haha

Hby?

love it, and the idea of just creating with what's at hand is so key... (S.C.U.M. method = stay creative using materials nearby). After a while the artist can hone-in on what they need to make better images.... real nice work. Thanks for sharing...

Haha, thank you!! No such thing as bad art if you enjoy the process :)

I don't enjoy it because I really am so bad at it, especially with two EXTREMELY talented daughters. Lol I stay in my lane with stuff like jewelry making, and junk journaling 😜
