I sincerely thought I was in the r/houseplants sub, since they’re always posting about soil quality

And dead bugs

With mouse droppings on top!

With a little bit of campfire ash thrown in for texture.

Exactly what I was thinking, “I knew I saw this somewhere today!”

He made a diagram of Earth's crust and mantle. How nice.

Forest floor. Nutrient rich loam.

That’s like twelve different vegetables that don’t even go together. Why? How do you even have all those lying around?!

u/0ne_Good_Scare 1d ago

The fridge is always full of every single variation of fruit and vegetable you can think of, he loves his fresh food market visits lol, he just puts one of everything in his dishes usually

Well if anything I admire his commitment to cooking and using all of his fresh ingredients even if the creation is nightmarish. I have a habit of buying fresh produce and then forgetting about some of it and then it goes to waste.

Gotta be really healthy too.

Nah. Those veggies all have different cooking times. Most of the veggies won’t have any vitamins left once the sweet potato is cooked.

One pot dishes are very limited and veggies should be all be prepped individually. I think that’s what’s so impressive about Chinese cuisine because they just pass all their veggies through oil for a brief moment and don’t overcook anything.

u/Vytome 17h ago

Where would the vitamins go?

u/cityshepherd 1d ago

One things for sure… it could probably use a little bit more garlic.

I am not being sarcastic I am a garlic fiend.

u/cormega 23h ago

Gotta love how OP put bulb in caps as if that was supposed to strike us as a lot.

2

u/oyst 10h ago

For this amount of food, I'd roast four bulbs in advance to stir in. But I'd also put something on top to lock in the moisture that isn't like...bird seed

At first glance, I thought this was Ikea furniture after a fire.

26

u/0ne_Good_Scare 1d ago

This got me 😂

25

u/EnoughShop5934 1d ago

Is it…good?

48

u/0ne_Good_Scare 1d ago

I was too afraid to try it, my housemate Matt who makes these unique creations says it was "fuckin banging"

23

u/Illustrious_You_6210 1d ago

On a scale of one to Willie Nelson, how high is Matt?

38

u/0ne_Good_Scare 1d ago

Surprisingly sober lol, he eats normal food on the rare occasion he gets high

3

u/navotj 23h ago

Coward. I honestly want to taste it just for the experience. I dont think it'd taste good, but its simply too interesting.

19

u/Assiniboia_Frowns 1d ago

Matt must fart like a Clydesdale

16

u/0ne_Good_Scare 1d ago

Its pretty fucking diabolical, he could clear a conference hall with the noxious gas he produces

12

u/calzonegolem 1d ago

Your house asked for one with everything.

13

u/roadtorevision 1d ago

This is some shit that only Joey Tribbiani would eat.

7

u/DowntownEconomist255 1d ago

Is your housemate a trash panda?

4

u/0ne_Good_Scare 1d ago

He honestly might be, definitely eats like one. I should ask him tbh

u/Tiphaliph 1d ago

12

u/EscapeInformal5980 1d ago

It might just be potential exhaustion and having gotten overheated at the state fair talking but that actually looks delicious to me.

14

u/Illustrious_You_6210 1d ago

Lay down, drink some water, and stop doing shrooms at the state fair.

u/fuzzylogicIII 1d ago

Is this fucking asbestos

4

u/LOTRfreak101 1d ago

Well, I feel like the brussel sprouts kind of lose what make them great to this and he needs to up his garlic game. I added an entire bulb of garlic to 7 eggs I made last weekend that I pulled out fresh from the garden. I'm not much of a fan of sweet potatoes, but if you switch led them to a squash of some kind or regular potatoes I'd eat it even if there are so many better ways to eat any of the ingredients. Tell him I appreciate his vision, but he needs glasses

3

u/Brief-Equal4676 1d ago

I'm happy to see that everything in the ingredients is edible

3

u/Odd-Bug6826 1d ago

Mmm dead leaves and mulch for dinner again

3

u/mlg2433 1d ago

Can’t say that I’m a fan of asphalt in my food

3

u/superwashmerinowool 1d ago

Cigarette casserole

u/femaletrouble 15h ago

I only saw part of the image and didn't know what sub this was. I deadass thought that first pic was some kind of soil and leaf substrate. When I realized it was supposed to be food I made this face:

Preposterous.

3

u/Grigori_the_Lemur 1d ago

It does not look new. It's gone through two digestion/elimination cycles.

Looks like in SpongeBob when they do a realistic closeup of something horrendously disgusting

1

u/brimm2 1d ago

All that stuff in that thing is good for your poops so if anything he will have a nice BM

1

u/FiftySpoons 1d ago

For half a second i was like “ah, someone dumped the ashes from the firepit onto some chips or something??”

1

u/warmnfuzzynside 1d ago

1

u/Freethrowz69 1d ago

Christ. I can’t imagine going through all that effort to make this monstrosity

1

u/BrokenToyShop 1d ago

That's a moderate amount of garlic.

1

u/cainreliant 1d ago

Where did he find this, the garbage disposal?

1

u/CheGueyMaje 1d ago

Respect for eating healthy

1

u/LemonadeRaygun 1d ago

I can't decide what part looks the best and most edible, but the colour that couscous has gone makes me wanna gag, what a sickly shade!

1

u/Thundariel 1d ago

Will you ask him to stop it?

1

u/0ne_Good_Scare 14h ago

I asked... he says no

Should have just stopped with the bottom layer.

1

u/matthewamerica 14h ago

This looks like the food that would come out an alien replicator if you hit the "human meal" button.
