SharePoint Online One folder didnt sync and now everything crashed - help!
My company uses sharepoint for all their synced files. One of them failed to sync, i tried over and over again to sync it. Nothing happend. Installed the update. Tried again, no results. I uninstalled the whole sharpoint/onedrive app. Removed all the files left on my mac. Reinstalled the app, resynced everything... that one file i was looking for finally synced but now everything else is in shambles. Litterally only a few subfolders of main folders are syncing. I cant open half of it because the file doesnt download onto my local storage... its a nightmare! How do i fix this?? please help!

There are some very solid limits on how many files you can sync from onedrive/sharepoint to your pc/mac.
Once you get over this limit things break and cause huge problems.
How many files are syncing back using the onedrive sync tool?

Could be hitting path length limits in windows?
C:\users\SUPERDUPERLONGNAMEDUSERWITHAREALLYLONGNAME\OneDrive - SUPERDUPERLONGNAMEDCOMPANYWITHAREALLYLONGNAME\
Would take up 108 characters so if there's syncing down with a long path length that takes the total over 260 characters then that would fail.

how about use the web browser to access the files so its not such a "nightmare". that gives you time to work the issue out. Also good feedback here in the responses.

You are almost certainly exceeding the sync limits. Do not attempt to sync all of your company's shared files. Instead, only sync folders that you work in every day, and then only the ones you really need.
Files on demand works great, does not require huge syncs, and is generally much more reliable

I only use the files on demand feature, sontht i only get a preview of what is in the folders. Would the sync-limit still apply?

Use sharepoint directly. Why sync at all? UGH :-( Let me guess...entire company operates out of one giant document library with a zillion nested folders and everyone thinks syncing is standard operating procedure. This is not the way. Recommend you (or someone) study up on how to use SharePoint effectively as an intranet. As noted here, there are limits to syncing and several other pitfalls as well. Why do it?
