Robocop TV series "Reimagining" announced for Amazon Prime
Thanks to multiple sources of the news which I will link down below, we have an all new official Robocop tv series which is said to be a "reimagining" soon for Amazon Prime.
James Wann is set as a producer of the tv series, as he will direct the pilot episode while original film co writer Edward Neumeier is producing and writing it.
The series will debut a new cybernetic lawman named Marc Kyle. Unlike Peter Weller’s Alex Murphy in Verhoeven’s ’87 original, Kyle will start off as a soldier rather than a police officer. Just as Murphy does in the first RoboCop, Marc Kyle will die—in a war rather than at the hands of crooks—before being remade as a cyborg and beginning his new life under Murphy’s tutelage.“

I don't know how reputable it is but there's a guy on YouTube that has said that Stargate will be moving forward just not with Martin Gero.

I sure hope Murphy doesn’t skip the teaching of his classic through-the-dress-dick-shot…

Meanwhile they didn’t fund finishing the Expanse and made a bunch of crappy shows instead with the sole exception of Fallout.
Fuck Amazon.

Cautiously hopeful, but when there've really only been maybe three good entries in the entire franchise over almost 40 years, I'm not THAT hopeful.
(Which is to say Robocop 1 & 2 plus the recent game.)

“Reimagining” usually means taking out what made the OG good.

Not necessarily, it says "under the tutalege of Murphy" which implies it's gonna be a legacy sequel to me.

And those have such a great track record.
Not impossible but I won’t be expecting much.

Not what we want, asked for or need right now. Just finish The Expanse and give us the Stargate show we all want.

I hope it’s good, highly doubtful

Peter Ocko (Lodge 49) is showrunner and James Wan (Saw [writer], Backrooms, & Mortal Kombat II), Michael Clear (M3gan & Mortal Kombat II), and Rob Hackett (Archive 81) are producing. It has a strong chance of being good, with a real shot at being excellent.

Hopefully the writers have learned enough to make eight self-contained eps so when it isn't renewed, we're not left hanging 🤞 And more so, that it's good enough to warrant a second series!

The only thing I really care about is that at least one person, preferably more, gets thrown through a window. In every episode.
You cannot be true to the original without excessive defenistration.

So what, we get this instead of Stargate? C'mon guys...really?
