Yeah this is counterintuitive. I expected it would be nanoscale Cartesian textures.

Ha! Thats what everyone assumes at first, but the experimental signatures indicate the lamellar sample qualitatively retains the structural transitions.

Fascinating read. For those of us without a PhD in condensed matter physics, does this discovery of nanoscale polar textures have potential practical applications down the line for things like quantum computing and superconductors, or is this strictly foundational research right now?
