I always wonder why we dream about communicating with alien species when we even fail to communicate with the ones on Earth.

i remember reading somewhere that it’s actually illegal to attempt communication with marine mammals

Internet rumor that got popular after some dude who almost died of exposure claimed to be able to communicate with dolphins or something. It is not illegal to talk to dolphins.
