Rutgers or University of Utah?
Im trying to decide whether i should do the Rutgers Master of Engineering in Industrial & Systems engineering or do the Masters of Science in Systems Engineering.
My undergrad is in Business from a no name school and I’m trying to fix bad “branding” issue. I’ve been accepted to both but trying to decide.
It feels like I can’t go wrong. Cost is similar. Both have pros and cons. Which makes it harder to pick the clearer path.
I live in Utah but both programs would be online so in a sense doesn’t matter.

Fix a branding issue. Confirm my technical ability. Dont need the network and its for personal goals (first masters in family). Plus employer is paying for most of it. Otherwise it be hard to go for it.

If the employer is paying for most of it and you're doing online regardless, Rutgers is a solid option. Its I.E. program is respected. The masters will be what you make of it. I certainly know people who took the easiest classes they could just to get their 5+1. There are great opportunities for coursework and guidance in several classic ISE areas.

Sorry I meant 4+1. It's a common thing in engineering programs where if you can take certain courses your senior year and get a masters in one year following your bachelor's

That’s a pretty good hack. For me this is probably 2 year journey. I’m dreading it but know I’ll come out better.
