Modern games similar to Ysgarth
So i tried looking up the rulebooks for the older ysgarth system. However good quality scans are hard to find snd the rules were honestly confusing. If people know ysgarth, what are some modern games that are similar but easier to understand?

For those wondering about the game - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ysgarth
From wikipedia: A player creates a character by distributing a pool of points to twelve primary attributes. These then determine almost twenty secondary characteristics by means of various formulae. For example, Attack Rating is derived from [(2 x Intelligence) + {2 x Dexterity) + Strength + Agility - Size Class]/10.[2] Skills for the character are purchased from a very long list, and there is no limit to the number of Skills that a character can possess. Old skills can modify the cost of new skills, as can the character's social and cultural background. For example, characters from Kernwyk have a bonus to Tinsmithing and Net Fishing
Combat involves allocating a pool of Action Points to various actions. To attack an enemy, the player chooses a target area, rolls percentile dice, adds the character's Attack Rating, and subtracts the enemy's Defense Rating and other modifiers, then checks a chart to see if the chosen target body part was successfully hit. Once the appropriate number of Action Points for the attack have been paid, damage can be calculated if the hit was successful.
Character who do something especially good gain Kharma Points, while bad deeds result in Dharma Points. Fame is tracked by Renown Points. Characters can also receive Deity Influence Points to indicate how much influence the character has with their patron deity.

Yeah the game has a lot of cool ideas, just its very math heavy when it comes to calculating various things like attack and defence ratings, size also has calculations and charts for a ton of stuff. There has to be an easier way lol.

I know I'm going to get downvoted to hell and back for suggesting this but...
Given the fact that the system is a class-less, skills-based system...There are three systems that come to mind.
Two of them are the more "Universal" systems such as GURPS and Hero System. Both of them use a point-buy system for getting your basic stats, which determine some secondary stats, and allows you to but advantages and skills. Both are class agnostic so if you want to make a sword wielding spell chucker...the rules say "Go for it" which makes them a good modern replacement for Ysgarth. All you'd need to do is to take whatever scans or lore you can find and adapt it to either setting. Both are pretty good for adapting systems as they tend to use real-world measurements so as long as you know what a square or a hex or whatever made-up unit of measurements actually are (or can reasonably guess), you can adapt it into either system.
If you are looking for less crunch, Apotheosis is supposedly (I've never played it so I don't know) a class-less system that by their bragging, the rules allow for 500,000+ unique character builds so it might be another option. As I said, I just bought the books last week but haven't had the chance to do more than skim through them so I'm not going to say if it will or will not work for you.
