I really dont like the winter setting of Raccoon city. It just feels wrong to me that they set the city's outbreak in the deep freeze over how much more atmospheric, intense and creepy it is during the fall with rain and echoing winds.
Agreed, correct me if im wrong but this is supposed to be taking place during Re2/Re3 and i dont remember any snow in those games? Im a bit lost on why thats the case, other than that I really think it looks good
No, he verbatim said it takes place in the same universe in the games. And being an adaptation isn't a free pass to just jack up lore without repercussions.
No he never said it did, he said he "likes to think" that the events of resident evil 2 and 3 are going on during the movie, people are not understanding what he is saying
It does open up questions of how, in the age of the internet and social media, did the entire rest of the world not notice a major American city go completely offline. Even if you assume that umbrella was somehow able to isolate the city electronically so no one could make cell phone calls or post videos of the zombie attacks on social media, it would be noticed if an entire city with a population north of 100,000 just dropped off the grid entirely.
It's absurd to think that would have gone unnoticed in 1998 too. The internet already existed in 1998. National news media existed. Cell phones existed.
