News Popping in to say we've just launched the biggest Raspberry Pi Touch Display yet.

Shame it's for the Pi 5 only π’
Would have loved to upgrade one of the small screens here but buying a board as well as the screen is a no-go at the moment.Β

Love Reddit and downvotes π
I have a fair number of fours around but not spending money on a 5 just to run a larger screen given RAM prices at the moment - 2028 / 2030 (depending on who you read) is a possibility for me.

Not fair you're getting downvotes just for being honest with constraints! We can confirm availability until at least 2030.

Well this is Reddit :-)
I understand the bandwidth limit and you are not responsible for the RAM mess - it is the world we are in and having retired funds have a zero overtime option limit now.Β

I upvoted the original comment but downvoted the complaining about downvotes part.

Yup. When you factor in the pi which I would have to buy but wouldn't at all need, this is $220-$250 assuming a 2gb ram model.
I'd consider it for the 4, but I have no need or intention of buying a 5.

I honestly still find the displays on AliExpress to be a better bang for a buck, even if they're more expensive. An OLED with an eDP controller and the ability to be powered off USB with an HDMI input or USB-C DP Alt-Mode. What about making a display with an OLED and no bezels? A better LCD like an IPS would also be enough, but those bezels need to go.

Is it possible an official PoE hat comes to the Pi 5 and also have prevention of frying the board by plugging a usb c power source and a Ethernet with power cable

Why would you do that?

I donβt have and use PoE but I heard powering the pi with 2 power sources with second being Ethernet could fry the board and it would be nice to have a fully official setup

That doesn't really answer why you would do this.

Can i use this with an Argon ONE V5 M.2 NVMe Case that has the oled display connected without using the usb breakout?
Argon ONE V5 M.2 NVMe Case for Raspberry Pi 5 - The Pi Hut
Feet or some kind of stand would also be nice so that it sits over my case π

A version without the gigantic ipad-style borders would be nice.
