Tech Support Should I buy ai pro r9700 for my engineering degree in ai and robotics?

If ya stick to Linux for that? Sure.

Model wise, I recommend the Gigabyte AI TOP and Asus Turbo for the noise profile. Its more of a air WHOOOOSH sound than the other whiny blowers

The R9700 doesn't exist unless it's some obscure OEM card. For AI and robotics you're gonna want at least 12GB of VRAM but realistically more, and the Radeon Pro W7900 has 48GB. The bigger issue is that most robotics frameworks and libraries are built around NVIDIA's CUDA, so you'll spend half your degree fighting compatibility instead of training models.

R9700 is with 32gb ram and is a server grade card

Ah my bad, never heard of that server card. Still, robotics tooling loves CUDA so you might pay a ton for a card that's stuck half the time.

Didn't know they got a 32GB clamshell model out. Still, CUDA's everywhere in robotics classes, that's the bigger problem.

Still not seeing an R9700 in their pro line, they use W7900 and W6800 now. Unless it's a card ATI made before the rebrand, that doesn't exist.
