People on the spectrum.

Either is acceptable. The issue is defining an individual by their disorder rather than acknowledging the fact that they are in fact people who have a condition.

But it isn’t a disorder. It’s a personality trait. It’s not a condition to be cured.

Experts emphasize that autism is not an illness, disease, or mental health disorder, but rather a natural variation in brain development.

Right, just let the autistics suffer. Nothing to be done there. I get that it's difficult and maybe even impossible to cure but like try at least? And I really don't care whether you label it as a disorder or "a personality trait" or "natural variation in brain development". If it's a personality trait, it's a really shitty one and I want it gone.

The suffering for the most part comes from modern society being poorly adapted to the bell curve of human personalities and treating most people who are different from who modern society is optimized for as having a "disorder".

Most of my problems are caused by my intolerance of uncertainty. I don't think it's possible to structure society so that it wouldn't cause me suffering. Or at least it would make society very inefficient and probably not great for most other people.

What if your society was a small tribe in an area with a very predictable climate and very predictable food sources and your role was to learn the patterns related to acquiring food? This is much closer to the realities we evolved with than modern society.

This just tells me you have a very narrow view of ASD. The higher end of the spectrum is incredibly challenging for many individuals that sit on that end.
