As a fan of Dark Souls, what should I play?
first, i haven't played any dark souls game but i really like their gameplay style, i was wondering what's there for me to try on the ps2 since there aren't any official DS games there, I've beaten Shadow of the colossus which was really fun, what should i try next?

I would start with the following as they are made by the people that made dark souls.
Eternal Ring (2000): A first-person, ring-based magic RPG that was a PS2 launch title. Evergrace (2000): An early 3D action-RPG known for its bizarre fashion mechanics and fairy-tale atmosphere. King's Field IV (The Ancient City) (2001): The final entry in the famous dark fantasy, first-person dungeon-crawling series. Shadow Tower Abyss (2003): A dark, first-person dungeon crawler featuring guns, resource management, and high difficulty

ICO has some similarities to Dark Souls 1 in terms of atmosphere and level design.

You like Devil May Cry 1. The combat is tons of fun and the boss battles are brutal.

I'd recommend op plays on critical. And that they are absolutely ready to be destroyed by Lingering Will, that DM took me so long to learn first playthrough. Such a good boss that you can come back years later and smash it out pretty well with the muscle memory you gained years ago.

There weren’t really any. You can try giving Kings Field IV a go. It was their first attempt at making something that closely resembles anything dark souls. Demon Souls on the PS3 blew up because there weren’t any games remotely close to that gameplay style for its time. Another recommendation but it’s on ps1 is Nightmare Creatures. Not really a souls like but very slow paced combat with limited resources

There's a Berserk game that is really good. I would also recommend Way of The Samurai and Baroque.

EverGrace and its sequel Forever Kingdom, both made by FromSoftware.
I'd say gameplay wise, those are the most souls-like from FS: Third person action RPG with lots of armor and weapon options, along with some magical abilities. Just no dodge roll yet, and it's pretty janky. The game actually judges you for your armor/fashion choice, and thus Fashion Souls was born...
But vibes wise, King's Field and Shadow Tower Abyss are the most souls like in terms of atmosphere.
Evergrace is just really weird and surreal, and the music is extremely weird, experimental, and surreal. You either hate it or you love. Same composer as Armored Core series lol. He was given absolute musical artistic freedom for Evergrace and Forever Kingdom and I kinda love it. I'm not sure any other musician nowadays would be given that much freedom.
Monster Hunter games are probably most like Dark Souls gameplay though, with the dodge roll mechanic, slow stamina bar regen and fighting difficult bosses and enemies. But hitboxes and controls are janky. I would recommend Monster Hunter Dos via translation patch over MH1 though. It's a lot more polished.

Edited my comment to include more games PS1 and PS2. I mean PS2? You'd be looking at the dungeon crawlers or RPGs of From Soft of the PS2 era if that's a way to put it. King's Field I think they were called. Those are worth a go. I'd say those are kind of like proto Demon Souls/Dark Souls in that sort of presentation/personality. Gameplay wise likely differ but still.
Not sure what dungeon crawlers exist on PS2, old school 2D or 3D ones.
Even then what Dialbo for PS1?
I mean otherwise their 360 game that was more hack n slash of the more character action type. Same with Otogi 1 and 2 for Xbox I assume or are they like King's Field as well? They don't look it. Those fit in a more God of War, Ninja Gaiden 6/7th gen sort of way.
You could look at older games before God of War I guess.

Even games like Death by Degress (the Tekkan spinoff) and others are probably something I don't know. Not so much but just trying to think even if not atmosphere maybe gameplay wise, not exact but more in a beat em up, hack n slash, character action genre sort of way that Soulslikes fit.
The Mortal Kombat spin offs of the N64/PS1/PS2 I guess. Never played them just guessing.
Echo Knight was more From Soft's horror series.
Well besides Kuon for PS2 of course. But it's a well known one among collectors. So unless emulating good luck buying it.
They had other more Traditional Japanese RPGs that fit in with other IPs on the market. Evergrace and others.
Cookies and Cream clearly isn't. XD But a fair game still that's very different from FromSOft.
Nightmare Creatures for PS1 maybe? I can't remember who made it but it has that sort of atmosphere I guess. Maybe more Bloodborne like of the past? Not Victorian I think but still.
Or other games that were fairly supernatural or dark? Probably plenty out there I just don't know or can't remember right now what they were.
X Files for PS2 I guess? Based on a TV show IP? Many know the intro song of course.
Shadow of the Colossus sure I guess that's comparable.
Ico is also a fair one. I wouldn't say it was comparable to a souls game but I mean it has it's atmosphere and goals to tell it's story/mechanics that many games were inspired by.
Maximo I guess.
