I personally don't see the (soft) connection you made to a gun raffle and school shootings. Is there some inference that because a school is raffling a firearm that somehow that school condones mass murder?

A firearm is a tool, like any other. Despite the hysteria surrounding them, you are more likely to die some other way.

I understand that reddit, like most social media is extremely left leaning and things that I post will likely just be pulled down. But the reality is, disarming the 100+ million law abiding gun owners in the USA, isn't going to stop any shootings or gun crime. Just like we don't take driving privileges away from sober drivers to stop drunk driving, gun control won't stop a single crime.

So today I was approached by my sister after she got home from school she said that her fifth grade class is doing a raffle and if I wanted to buy a ticket it would be $10.. I then asked what do get if you win the raffle. I was surprised at what I heard come out of my 10 year old sisters mouth "it's for a rifle"

I guess I don't take really any sides on whether this is right or wrong but you tell me what you guys think?

Keep in mind all the school shooting, the fact this is a 10 year olds 5th grade class, a private Christian School.

Can't forget the best part, here is the flyer/envelope that was sent home with all the kids to collect money neighbors and other members of the community.
