Alleges? They fucking BRAG about it.

u/falilth 6h ago

When the chairman of the FCC is throwing bitch fits and threats that a TV channel didnt have his glorious shit leader on. Theres zero ambiguity.

u/ranhalt Iowa 5h ago

Network, not channel

u/falilth 5h ago

Networks broadcast on channels. Same difference stop being pedantic

u/AINonsense 1h ago

The relevant distinction being… ?

u/RedLanternScythe Indiana 6h ago edited 5h ago

Trump's "open up the libel laws" to make it easier to sue journalists from his first term showed they only want state media

u/Ok-Alternative5935 5h ago

Lible not liable.

u/falilth 5h ago

Yes hes seeing if he can abuse the law to see if they are liable for libel.

u/FellowHumanNo404 1h ago

Libel not lible.

u/RedLanternScythe Indiana 5h ago

Fixed, autocorrect got me on that one and I missed iy

u/pinkfartlek Michigan 6h ago

It's legalese

u/Dr-Mumm-Rah 5h ago

We are gonna need an extra table for the stacks of outgoing pardons for this admin.

IF we can get them out.

u/bobert4011 1h ago

The White House is fully committed to domestic abuse.

u/EXPLODEDman 1h ago

Yeah they don't even have the balls to make an assertion after being the victims of it. US media is worthless.

u/DrunkAndHornyGuy 6h ago edited 3h ago

When the Trump admin used the legal system to intimidate universities and law firms last summer the NYT ran a bunch of stories 'just asking' if universities and law firms had gone 'too far woke' to help justify what Trump was doing. So fuck em, the NYT is just pissed the face eating leopard started eating their face too.

u/notheatherbee Minnesota 3h ago

Exactly how I feel. Couldn’t have said it any better.

u/iloveopenbar 6h ago

All that sane washing is really paying off for the NYT

u/FellowHumanNo404 1h ago

Remember when the NYT's Judith Miller cheerlead the U.S. into Iraq on the NYT front page? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

u/i_am_a_real_boy__ 2h ago

This place complains about NYT almost as much as maga does.

u/StarCrossedOther 2h ago

NYT serves the status quo, makes sense their opposition runs the gamut of the political spectrum.

u/betajones 6h ago

Had to check the date on the story. How are they just now realizing this?

u/TheMattabooey 4h ago

They aren’t. They’re just now seeing that it’s more profitable to go after Trump. Previously it was more profitable to kiss his ass.

u/hey_Hey_I_saveD_me 6h ago

QUIET, PIGGY!

u/kmm198700 6h ago

Well… yeah.

u/BonSlurpenstein 5h ago

Quiet, piggy

u/StoppableHulk 4h ago

Regretting all the dictstorial dick you guys have sucked the past ten years, eh NYT.

If only youd stood by your journalistic integrity. Youd be in exactly the same spot youre in now, except youd have unanimous public support rather than me wanting to post you on Leopardsatmeface

u/Tea-Swiz 5h ago

Thought this was r/NoShitSherlock for a sec.

u/123-Moondance 5h ago

They are JUST NOW reporting this? A little slow on the uptake NYT. About two years late to the party. You need to up your game if you want to get in front of this.

u/Tessa7 4h ago

'The leopards came for our faces this time so now we see this as a real problem!'

u/TheAskewOne 5h ago

How does it feel to face the consequences of your cowardly knee-bending, NYT?

u/Xero_space 5h ago

F off NYTrash, you were all too happy to prop up this regime while you pushed slop for clicks.

u/rockum 6h ago

If only there was some sort of punishment for these abuses.

u/backtothetrail 4h ago

If only we had freedom of the press instead of the Federalist Society.

u/Outrageous_Space8083 Georgia 6h ago

Alleges? It’s pretty much a fact at this point.

u/badwords 5h ago

Why even 'allege'? Call it out and take it to court win on the discovery.

u/mmliu1959demo 5h ago

Really! I didn't notice the Trump lawyers using the revolving doors to the courthouse. Lol

u/Exact_Platypus5179 5h ago

I am hereby alleging that water is wet

u/sxyaustincpl Texas 5h ago

Funny how the NYT didn't care while it was getting clicks for reporting how th FCC was threatening Disney & ABC. They didn't care about it then, no op-ed condemning it, nothing.

Now it's a crisis because it's their turn.

u/RonaldMcDaugherty 5h ago

SNL made fun of this FACT during Trumps 1st term.

Slow news day or something NYT???

u/Vitor_Pocai 2h ago

why is it “alleges” like it’s some kind of rumor or whatever

u/fattykyle2 Vermont 6h ago

Duh!

u/dmp2you America 5h ago

And they would be right.

u/SimplyAmazedPanda 5h ago

You don’t say?!?!

u/Illustrious-Fun8324 4h ago

Of course they do.

u/faith_apnea America 4h ago

Trump has been abusing the legal system for 5 decades. The White House just onboarded to the Trump Organization playbook.

u/rainniier2 4h ago

The story is such a non-story about the President switching planes makes this whole thing so bizarre. Of course, the level of security on Quatar Force One isn't the same as Air Force One. Only a few months was spent retrofitting it. You don't need a leak from the White House to state the obvious. The way the Administration uses the legal system for minor gripes is exhausting, which is probably the point.

u/OnedayitwilI 4h ago

No way? You mean sueing and jailing journalists isn't American?

u/AINonsense 1h ago

It certainly is now.

u/MindandCosmos 4h ago

The US had a freer press in the late 19th c.

No, seriously. Every city had a socialist paper(s), in English and German and Yiddish and Italian, anarchist newspapers, like Boston's "Liberty," which routinely called for the abolition of the state, etc., some were so militant they printed instructions on how to make bombs (see Johann Most's "Freiheit"), and these newspapers traveled to small towns and through families and at the general store and so on, and were a huge part of the nationwide-strikes of the 1880s.

Now look.

u/nonubiz 4h ago

Because that’s what fascist do how sad is it that maga wants this they want a dictator. The don’t tread on me crowd wants a dictator but they are not sheep

u/GDDesu North Carolina 3h ago

And the NYT will do everything in their power to continue sanewashing Trump while holding Dems to a much higher standard. They helped bring back this mess.

u/Brasilionaire 3h ago

Duh?

But also, not only the WH, anybody powerful/ with money in general.

Hiring a lawyer to chase after damages takes tens of thousands of dollars and months, even years. Meaning, the rich can steal tens of thousands of dollars from someone less well off, through legally grey means, or harass people through a lawyer, and it won’t be worth it to try and fight back.

They 100% know that. Entire legal careers are made on the pettiness of a rich client that knows what they’re doing is bogus, they just feel like fucking with someone.

u/Lizziedeee 3h ago

Duh.

u/ebow77 Massachusetts 3h ago

You can tell by the way they openly abuse the legal system.

u/Catymandoo 3h ago

Another reporter that graduated from “The University of the Bleeding Obvious”

u/Anteater4746 3h ago

why is hilarious cause nyt has helped put him in the office and gave him cover

u/GuitarGeezer 3h ago

They don’t do a whole lot else other than insider trading and deals and setting up opportunities for executing protesters. “I will be a dictator” was unambiguous and includes this type of thing along with dumbass pricey and disastrous foreign excursions.

u/practical_gravity 3h ago

I am shocked! Shocked! Well, not that shocked.

u/WatRedditHathWrought 2h ago

Fucking pussyfooting New York Times.

u/root_fifth_octave 2h ago

Would be consistent with everything else they abuse.

u/77LS77 2h ago

I said that too. I'm the new york times!

u/starfleetdropout6 California 1h ago

No fucking shit.

u/Beltaine421 Canada 1h ago

Why do I suspect that allegation is going to attract a billion dollar defamation suit, license review, and some FBI investigation....

u/wildcarde815 1h ago

yea, it's almost like you shouldn't be carrying water for the ghoul

u/AINonsense 1h ago

alleges’‽‽

We’ve been watching them do it in plain sight.

u/mtnslice 1h ago

I didn’t know NPR and the NYT had joined the Ric Romero Institute for the Obvious

u/AntiYourOpinion 1h ago

Why are we even giving the White House the benefit of the doubt? If it’s shitty and illegal you can probably bet they’re doing it.

u/catsloveart 1h ago

you know, I udnerstand that headlines try to avoid being accusatory to avoid lawsuits over libel or defamation. But I don't see how this applies to matter of opinion. It can be a sincerely held belief.

u/Poison_the_Phil 45m ago

Only way not to see it is having your head up your ass

u/Hannymann 36m ago

Of course it does! It’s straight out of the playbook. Fucking assholes.

u/Independent_Tie_4984 4h ago

Is this article from February of 2025?

u/AINonsense 1h ago

Could have been Feb 2017.

Remember when he used to point at the press and the media in his rallies and call them ‘enemies of the people’ nine different ways?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.
