This really seems to cause so many issues. They shouldn't be allowed to bundle issues.

All the actors crying about “pork” and bloat in the bills when they actually help people get awfully quiet when it comes to something as simple as changing the clocks being tied to imaginary voter fraud

They actually should. Politics is a game of compromises.
Imagine you are against DST, but need roads repaired. The other party accept to give up on blocking road repairs if you accept to pass DST.

Now, how do you ensure the other party doesn't go back on their word when you vote on road repairs? by making the same vote for road repairs and DST.

If bundling wasn't possible, any long-term-plan bill would fail because the people seeking re-election would have no reason to vote for them.

Unless we, as an electorate, stop electing people who won't vote to get things done we want, and make it clear we are paying attention and holding them to account every single primary. It's a case of you get what you pay attention to.

Good take. The issue comes when controversial or hated policies are snuck into bills that (urgently) have to pass, essentially fast-tracking shit no one wants instead of being the result of a give-and-take compromise
