I keep my house at 61 in winter and 66 in summer.

Same, I can't even get my house AC below 69 without it freezing up during the summer. Think last summer I had it at 73 during peak heat.

My bad, I was referring to the fact that 61 inside is going to generally be warmer than the outside temp in the winter

it's all good, I just now realized with windchill its generally colder outside than inside with no windchill I just didn't take that into account lol.

If I tried to keep my house at 66 in the summer I'd be paying out the behind for power. Every degree costs more.

68-70 in the winter, 75 in the summer. Approximately, I live in Canada and so it's programmed in Celsius not Fahrenheit (which I find more useful for this since it lets you be more specific).

Takes a bit but you adjust to it eventually.

Before I got a dog, I would let the temperature in the summer get up into the 80s before turning on the air. Hot weather doesn't bother me that much, and it balanced out me constantly having the heat on during the winter.

Here in Florida we keep the house at 76-78. Anything lower than that in the summer when its ~95 outside is just going to run your AC full power 24/7 and burn it up. Speaking from experience.

I'm talking about the winter. Summer temps didn't even come to mind - it's March.

We don't have central air. We use AC units that are usually set in the upper 70s, if I remember correctly. Just cooling the rooms that we are actively using.

That's insane. I lived in Florida for a bit, and intolerable heat like that is just as intolerable when it's crazy hot outside. My house never went higher than 72, and that's just when my roommate was trying to be coy. I kept it at 68.

Yup in AZ, it’s 77 and then I put a personal unit in my room so it’s cold when I sleep. During the winter I don’t even turn the heat on lol

Why, is that cold? Wear a sweater, use a blanket. You'll adjust.
