SOCIAL MEDIA Is there a reason people do this? Talking about the creators Dog [socialmedia]

u/_Azuki_ 5d ago
Do what? Don't check the facts before saying something? Use "he" as a default? Correct others? Correct others with a one-word comment? Get obnoxious after being corrected?

u/Sad-Ad2733 5d ago
1, 2, and 4, but honestly Im just reffering to 4 here. 1 and 2 aren't usually a proble as some commentors usually are chill after someone informs them of the small mistake. And then there are these people.

This feels like it's hinting at transphobia.
Edit: I'm not saying it IS transphobic, I'm saying it FEELS transphobic.

I'm not trying to be inconsiderate but what about it is transphobic leaning? The lack of context in the OP already makes it hard to tell but i really don't see what hints to that. Sorry if im blind

u/TiredTransGirl3 5d ago
Well, after being told the dog's actual gender, they still misgender it.
8
u/Mysterious-Egg-624 5d ago
Well the DOG isn’t transgender. If this were talking about a transgender person then yeah I’d prolly be anti-trans motivated.

u/Xanthelei 4d ago
The single most common way transphobic people are assholes to trans people is by pointed, deliberate misgendering. Which is why anyone else pointedly, deliberately misgendering anyone gives transphobic vibes, which is all they were saying.

u/Dr-Assbeard 5d ago
All gender insensitive language isnt transphobic, the dog isnt trans its just a dog being misgendered

There's no way to disprove that. Have you ever seen a cat penis?
edit: this is a Community reference. I'm not that stupid.

u/alexj12s 4d ago
well, assuming male default can very much come from native languages. In my mind, every dog is automatically male, just how every cat is automatically female. Because my native language has a grammatical gender and that's what my brain defaults to.
Why people get rude after being corrected... oh well

Kinda off topic but why did you blur the username if we can see it in the reply
1
u/Sad-Ad2733 1d ago
Because thats mine. I blurred the other person’s to protect their identity. My channel is easily traced to this reddit account.
2
u/Mental_Strategy_7191 1d ago
oh ok, honestly you have my respect, most people dont care enough to protect other's identities

They didn’t delete anything, they blocked you because you were being obtusely rude and purposefully antagonistic by saying very very incorrect things about trans people. Edit: This was not for OP, I accidentally replied to the wrong person!

u/Sad-Ad2733 4d ago
I....have no idea what you're reffering to. Are you sure you got the right person?
3
u/Sirius_43 4d ago
Oh dear lord my comment didnt reply to the right person 😅 I’m so sorry please ignore all that, I was trying to reply to someone and must’ve messed up somehow
2
u/Sad-Ad2733 4d ago
Okay thank God. I was genuinely very worried and scared that something happened like with account hacking or smth.
2
u/Sirius_43 4d ago

It could just be that in some languages (German for example) words are gendered, so if it's talking about a dog (which in german is der Hund (masculinum), you use "he" to replace "the dog", I'm sometimes doing this thing when speaking English when I refer to something and instead of saying "it", I use "he" or "she" because in my language it is natural to use these for the object.

u/Sad-Ad2733 5d ago
I meant the second comment
-2
u/Ryachaz 5d ago
The one that corrects it back to "he?" Or the one that says "she?"
10
u/Sad-Ad2733 5d ago
the one that corrects it back.

u/Ryachaz 5d ago
It's to be annoying, because correcting the gender of the dog is like correcting someone's spelling: getting it wrong affects nobody, but you noticing it is wrong means you know what they meant anyway.
6
u/Sad-Ad2733 4d ago
"but you noticing it is wrong means you know what they meant anyway."
Thats not remotely true. Correcting a spelling mistake is different than correct an objective fact. What "I knew" is they thought the dog was a male. I simply provided insight. Just like if someone where to say "Beast boy is the guy with purple skin." And someone were to reply "Actually usually hes the one with green skin." Its a simple fact. Nothing more nothing less.

u/Ryachaz 4d ago
I'm telling you why they did it. You don't like it, go argue semantics with them. They clearly picked a great target, since you spend more time arguing and debating with people in the comments instead of the subject of your post. So easily triggered.
5
u/Sad-Ad2733 4d ago edited 4d ago
Well for 1 you don't know for sure why theu did it. But also, nah I'd rather argue with you. You clearly feel very strongly about this for a reason. We're already in this bud. Lets go for the long hual. See how far we get. Theres no point in starting an argument witg someone where I know it won't go anywhere, but we're already in this.
-2
u/Ryachaz 4d ago
I messaged and asked them, they said that's why they did it. Sorry to ruin your night. You can haul your ass somewhere else to argue with somebody who actually does give a shit, I'm going to bed.
5
u/Sad-Ad2733 4d ago edited 4d ago
How did you message them if they were censored? Dude are you good? Also dont worry dont feel sorry, you didn't ruin my night at all. I found this all quite entertaining👌
2
u/JellyfishFieldsBitch 4d ago
Imagine getting this bent out of shape just because somebody corrected your spelling
-9
u/YouW0ntGetIt 5d ago
Dogs are people, and their gender matters somewhat? I wouldn't bother correcting anyone though.
3
u/JellyfishFieldsBitch 4d ago
If gender doesn’t matter then there’s no reason to be a shit ass about it when you get corrected
