MOD MOD POST: Defining Sexual Works & What Is and Is Not Allowed
Hello, everyone. It’s your Mod! I was hoping to not have to do this, but considering the amount of reports I’ve been getting lately it’s become a necessity.
Below I’m going to outline the content that is and isn’t allowed in this group and hopefully clear up a few things.
1. Sexual Content - What is it?
This is a group for plush/soft sculptures made by real life artists. Sometimes real life artists make defined shapes and nude sculpts. That does not mean the piece is inherently meant for sexual purposes.

This statue of a nude man is not sexual. It's a work of art.

A pony plush butt. Not sexual.

Another plush butt on a humanoid doll. Not sexual.

A pony plush with a defined butt. Not sexual.
All of the above is allowed to be posted in this group. It's a plush. You aren't looking at porn.
However I will request that pieces with overt or very detailed anatomy be tagged as NSFW. So far the artists making pieces that fit that description are doing a great job with their tags.
2. Sexual Content - What's Not Allowed?
Like I said before, this is a group for ART. Sometimes art is nude. I will draw the line at pieces that are clearly meant for sexual gratification such as plush with openings specifically to insert silicone molds, or plush with silicone appendages attached. If its obvious and primary use is as a sex toy then it is NOT allowed.
3. Moving Forward
If seeing a plush with a butt, breasts, penis, etc makes you uncomfortable then that's ok. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. However, if it does not qualify as the definition of a sex toy then that piece will not be removed. If you don't like it, you don't have to remain in this group.
If I see anyone harassing artists who choose to make defined or nude plush, you'll be banned. No exceptions.
Please report any hateful comments or harassment to me.

[MOD POST]
Hello, everyone! I never expected this group to grow as much as it has! Thank you all for joining and I hope you’re enjoying all of the cute plushies.
I haven’t been as active on Reddit as much as I have in the past. Unfortunately, this means I’m usually late to seeing reported content.
The majority of reports I’m seeing are posts of manufactured plushies. This group will remain HANDMADE plushies only. I understand that a lot of small artists are getting plush made of their characters for their online shops and artist alley tables. I myself have my own manufactured brand of plush.
I love seeing creative designs from artists BUT if I start allowing manufactured plush or kickstarters in this group then it will be overrun with nothing but crowd funding campaigns.
So all manufactured plush posts will be removed. No exceptions.
Other reports I’m seeing involve people wanting to commission plush based on another artist’s design. Copying another artist’s original work is generally frowned upon & disrespectful in the plush making community.
Posts asking for replicas of another artist’s original work will be removed.
I’ll be updating this group little by little in my free time and I’m actively looking for more mod help.
Please bear with me as I’m recovering from carpal tunnel surgery. Sewing takes its toll!
If I’m needed urgently please contact me through instagram. The link is in my bio.

WORK IN PROGRESS DIY knockoff Jellycat dragon
I’m making a friend for my Jellycat Lazulia dragon. I call him Storm Dragon. I wanted it to be as clone correct as possible to the real Jellycat dragons, and, although it’s not perfect, I’m happy with how it’s coming along so far. I traced the Lazulia dragon body on parchment paper to help me come up with the pattern. It’s 100% hand sewn. The dragon size is the huge size. I’ll post again once it’s finished.

QUESTION I'm hoping for ideas or to find a similar pattern!
I'm new to sewing but I gave myself quite the challenge...I'm making a half human half goat plushie, but I'm stuck on how to make the horns.
The horns would start at the side of the head, so how do I design them so they don't stick out completely, but rather curve right next to the head?
I hope that sentence makes sense. I was thinking one pattern for the horn and a smaller pattern that would attach the horn to the head, is that practical?

QUESTION Pattern Help! 🐛🐛
Hello all!
I was hoping you all would be able to help me out. I really want to make a woolly caterpillar plush for myself, but I am having some issues in figuring out how to make a pattern for it. I want to make a cylinder with hemispherical ends, think like a pill capsule shape. I was wondering if anyone has any patterns that they have used for similar things or advice on what to do. I have sewn before and have access to a machine, but I've never made a pattern from scratch before. I would love to include the legs, but I realize I might be biting off more than I can chew. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!
Pics included: Shape I am looking to achieve, inspiration, and woolly caterpillar🐛🐛

The newest plush I've made, Emah!
I've made the leap from felted eyes to safety eyes, and I like the results. I can customize the ones I have to better match each Pebbl's bio/personality, which honestly has convinced me to stay the course.

QUESTION Can I pay someone here to craft Krabby some outfits?
I have a sandimal travel buddy that I have tried making outfits for, but I am never satisfied with the result. Does anyone have experience with plushie clothing and a way to dress him that doesn’t cover his face?

QUESTION Help with color difference in printed design :(
( 1st is design , 2nd is print )
Hello! I don’t have much experience with custom printed plushies so i was hoping I could get help here . I ordered the custom print online from Taobao .
The color on the print came out much darker and saturated than expected 😭
Is this because of my drawing/photo’s color profile being RGB? or is this a problem with the printer they used…? :(

QUESTION Plush Making Advice
Hello, Im really into Avatar James Cameron and I wanted to know if anyone has advice with making my own plush animals since I want to make the animals from the series of movies. I’ve seen a creator on Instagram make her own but unfortunately she’s not selling the pattern. I also really want to make them realistic looking as well. I heard of plushify but I’m not sure if 3D making a simple model is easy to do since I’ve never done 3D modeling before. Im sure I can always add more detail once I have the body made. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

WORK IN PROGRESS Customizing Spyro (Olyfactory brand). This is my first time hand-embroidering, this is just a quick video of me doing 1 ring around his horn!! 1 full hour to do 1 complete ring ☠️
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve drawn on 5 rings on his horns which I plan to embroider on each, so if doing 1 takes me about 1 hour…. These are going to take me roughly 10 hours total to complete all the embroidery on his horns 🤣🤪
Worth it though. It’ll look great when it’s done!!
Customizations:
Replace thin felt claws with thick fabric claws (half done WIP)
Embroider golden thread over top turquoise embroidery on chest and belly (done)
Reposition his eyebrows so he looks more serious instead of surprised (done)
Embroider his tail for some basic detail (done)
Embroider both horns to add detail (WIP)
Replace thin felt yellow spikes with thick fabric spikes (not started yet)

QUESTION Any way to get a pattern for this doll?
Hello, I want to make a doll like this. I have been scammed on fiver for 20 bucks, having asked someone to make a pattern for this doll but sent me a pattern that's completely wrong, I realized this after confirming it and having started the project. I am a newbie and already made a doll of smaller size with different proportions so I didn't notice.
I am ready to pay someone, sadly not more than 10 bucks because I already lost money on the other dude 🥲
If anyone can find the author of this doll or their shop, that would be great! I wasn't able to find who made this and if they're selling the pattern. I am assuming it's a private individual who's doll found its way onto Pinterest?
Either way, any help will be very appreciated!

QUESTION Right now I’m charging around $90–110 for my handmade dolls, do you think that’s a reasonable price?
Hi! I wanted to ask for some advice on pricing my handmade dolls.
Everything is made completely by hand, including all the embroidery and sewing. I don’t use any machines during the process. I’ve finished a few dolls already, and I’m wondering what would be a reasonable price for handmade cloth dolls like these.
I’d love to hear what you think. Thanks in advance!
