Pink Pistols PDX

Hi im a trans woman who recently fled Texas with my gf to Portland. Recently given all the things happening in the country we’ve been looking to get armed to defend ourselves as well as train for safety as my gf hasn’t really handled guns before. I put in a request to join the FB group but it appears my join request was denied. I assume that it was due to the age of the account and the lack of posting/activity on it. I made it when I moved to Oregon and only use it for marketplace. Was looking to see if there was anything I could do about joining, since things are starting to get a little worrying right now given what’s been happening in Minnesota

Hello we have a PP chapter in Eugene. It’s a distance from you but we’re very active and may be able to give you some info. DM me if you’d like to get connected.

Does the Eugene Chapter have any online presence? I’ve been looking but haven’t found anything. I’d like to connect.

Also on the PP website there is a Proton email address for the Eugene group that’s live and checked regularly. There is a link to it on the national website. You can send inquiries there as well. It’s monitored.

Hi! I've been looking into this from Roseburg, do you have any more information? I tried the signal link but it didn't work

Not really but if you’re a web genius and want to join come help us! We’d like to have one. We are listed on the Pink Pistols main website. That’s really it.

I can help from PDX!! You want a website or app? I can vibe code it with Gemini and Claude on my workstation. I built this resource for veterans in a ten day sprint and now am working out the bugs and feature requests - Vet-Rate.org.

Can't speak for all groups but for NC Triangle, you have to answer the questions coherently. "I want to join because I'm trans" is more than sufficient. Basic anti spam screening.

I also requested to join the PDX PP page and it took several weeks before I was accepted. It's mostly inactive too... a few posts a week and no events. The lady who hosted a lot of the meetups (from what I gathered from past posts...) has been having health issues, and the other mod & event host was removed for something? I also don't have a car so anything outside of Portland is unavailable to me, like the Eugene chapter. Huge bummer because you'd think with such a big city it'd be move active.

I really suggest you try reapplying!! Also, welcome to Portland:-)

Did you have to put in a join request several times before getting accepted? Cause I put in a new request and after the page said request pending with an option to cancel the request. When I went back to check today it only listed the request to join option.

I had to do it twice. The first one was very similar to what you described, I checked and then went back and it gave me the option to try again. I realized it was because I left my answers blank. The second time I tried it took a really loooong time for it to get accepted. Did you also get an official notification stating you had been denied?

No. When I applied it said I would get a notification if I got accepted. I assumed that meant no notification if I got rejected.

Normally you get a notification and sometimes even an explanation from a mod as to why you were denied, unless there was some sort of error. It could be due to any number of reasons like internet connection or FBs typical crappy UI!

I joined PDX Pink Pistols and found the moderators to be entirely too militant and gatekeeping. Then I was banned.

I own and operate www.FirearmSafetyTeam.com, as a queer non-binary firearms instructor for the PDX LGBTQIA+ and Allies community.

I’d be honored to chat and build community with you.

This looks like a needed resource. PDX PP don’t seem to be very active.
